ok i Iv've just got a new motor (Reedy RAGE 24 stock) and i need to know wot to do with it, I have heard you are suposted to run it under water for a few secs to alow the brushes to seat in (while being kept clean and cool) then you should clean it with spary and relubrecate

Also it says in the motor user-guide to clean with motor spray while running at full speed BUT my motor spray (clean can motor spray) never to use with the motor running:confused: i am confused - sould i clean it with it runing or not!!!

P.s. im going to be going on holiday this evening and will be useing then so i need a reply ASAP!!! please

You can run it underwater to seat the brushes for about 3 seconds it is a very quick process then make sure it is dry, oil the bushings and go racing. When cleaning with motor spray you will need to take the motor apart spray off the parts thourghly and reassemble, that is if your not going to rebuild the motor.it is personal preference weather you run the motor or not when cleaning I've seen people do it both ways,I don't, but I race a lot and rebuild my motors every few runs.

There's no need to run the motor underwater - the brushes should seat ok after about a minute of constant running, using a 4-cell pack if you have one.

I only clean my motors when they're not running.

Brush break in time will depend on the compound you are using it will take at least 240 seconds for a set of silvers, water just speeds the process up.
