do most of you solder your ESC leeds to the motor or use lugs to connect the motor to the ESC... THANKS STEVE

I solder the wires to the motor...less resistance and it holds a lot better.

I solder the connection to the motor and use deans to the battery. Although I've been considering solder all the way around.

Right on!! The heat from the solder gun won't damage the motor??

As with everything I just pre tin the part and don't stay on anything too long with the iron. At least a 40 Watt....

Right, as long as you don't keep the iron in contact with the motor for too long, you won't damage it or weaken anything. And with a quality iron of appropriate wattage, you won't have to keep it in contact for more then 2 or 3 seconds...:)

deans all around.
im not that hardcore to solder the wires directly to the motor.
plus its the fact that the wires aren't long enough.:D

I'm with hawk.. we use the Deans on both ends, if only because I'm too lazy to dig the soldering iron out any more than I have to. The problem being that we have maybe 6 or 7 males plugs that end up having to be moved around between about 25 motors. The frugal and no-so-lazy side of me recommends the soldering, it's just plain cheaper.. :D

you could use pwerpoles. that's what i've been using on my batteries. they don't have a specific male and females. it's which side you clamp the 2 halves on. so you don't run into the problems lasagnacat did.
