Is there a company or individual that can make a custom body in 1:10 scale (ish)? Actually I would like a HPI super scale body if I get my Christmas wish too.
I am looking for a body to replicate my fullsized car or at least what my car should look like when the project is done. I have seen a picture of the body I want, but can't locate a duplicate. Go to this thread for some pics... http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=96912&pagenumber=4
Thanks all,
Dave

I could do it... but you'd be looking at a lot of money for a custom formed body.

Just checking but from your pic it looks like a 60's/70's Porsche 914/4 , /6, or /8. If thats the case I've seen a 1/10th scale body but I'd have to do some research.

the picture is of a 914/6 GT (flared fenders). I would appreciate any help locating a couple of bodies in 1:10 scale. If someone were to make a body (Frank?) how much would it cost?
thanks,
Dave

You're looking at at least $300, but then you'd get like 5 or 10 of them.

Well Frank, I will need paint quite a lot of tee shirts to afford that, but I may take you up on it. I think for that price I would want it to fit the HPI Super Nitro car. Maybe if I airbrush a few, I could recoupe some of my money too. 10 for $300 or so isn't so bad.
What would you need to do it? Are you willing? Not now, but maybe soon. This is the car I want to model: http://fly.hiwaay.net/~jonlowe/Sonauto.html. This is the car from the movie LeMans with Steve McQueen.

PS: still looking for more info on existing bodies too.

I need as many pics as I can get my hands on, a down payment, and time. The amount you get (5 or 10) depends on the plastic you want it molded in. If you would like PETG then you can have 10. If you want lexan, because of the pain it is to work with lexan, and the cost of the raw plastic, you will get 5. PETG isn't as impact resistant as lexan, but it's much eaiser to mold and cheaper.
