I just finished building my first RC car, and I'm completely hooked on this hobby.

I want to buy a monster truck now, but I don't want an RTR. I almost enjoyed building my truck more than running it. Part of that is 'cause it is an HPI electric rs4 MT. Anyways, what would you all suggest to buy in kit form? I don't see a lot out there, so I thought I would ask here. The alternative is to buy the individual hop ups and build if from scratch. I'm not too keen on this idea as I know it will be very expensive, but I'll do what I have to.

Please don't waste my time or yours telling me to buy an RTR and take it apart and put it back together. Thanks for any suggestions.

Get a monster pirate, dominator, or mad force if you want nitro. Get a txt-1 if you want electric. Or do a mod clod.

Edit: Somehow I spelled nitro wrong.

I'm really looking for a kit. Not RTR or 80%. I want to open the box and see a bunch of tiny little pieces that don't look anything like the picture on the box. Also, I'm looking for Nitro.

I do like the looks of the Mad Force, but I'm wondering about those axles. Anyone have any experience with them? How do they hold up? Any clearance issues?

What is a Mod Clod?

Hmm, Clodbuster, Juggernaut 2, Wild dagger, Stampede. Or a Mod clod would be good to start

a mod clod is a clodbuster that has an aftermarket chassis.

Some good chassis makers are ESP, Bennet, Sassy Chassis or JPS

I love my Mad Force The axles are not an issue unless you are a boulder bouncer (hits every big rock in your way) but then again anything would break like that,,, but they contain MP 7.5 diffs and can handle the power... and it is definatly a fun build...

Although it's electric i would recommend the Tamiya Lunchbox/midnight pumpkin kit. They wheelie really easy and are pretty strong. (V.easy to tune to!! :D) U might have to look a bit to find one though.
