Hey all,
WileyC here I have had troubles with my T-maxx ever since I bought it new. It was a .15 pro that burned up pretty quick, it overheated no matter what I did, even the LHS could not tune it right, so that it did not over heat?? So I got an .15 HPI SS and idle broke it in 2 tanks, and the proceded to break it in gently, and I am really concered(sp?) that it is still overheating, I did the not so acurate spit test and it sizzles off really quick, then I saw very little Bubbles coming outta the rubber area were the low speed needle is most likly boiling arghh. I am running it on the rich side to try and help this problem? Another problem that it might have been is that right now I have a motor saver air filter on there and it barely fits, so it falls off sometimes, so what type of air filter fit's around the close idle needle on this engine? I tried the original T-maxx filter and my rc-10gt filter they don't fit? But anyhow I have to much chasis alum.. on this thing to give up now, and not to forget the money I just spent on the new HPI I need help, how is this thing overheating I am in MN right now and it was like 30-45 degrees this weekend when I ran the darn thing??
Thanx Friends......

If your running in wheather that cold you may want to richen it up even more, cold air is more dense than warm air, so you need more fuel to compensate. if nessacary cut a holoe in the windshield to let more air in. It is not the t-maxx that is causing overheating, dont be upset with the truck, the only thing that can case overheating is the engine and the person tuning it..... that is not meant to be offensive, its just a fact.

he is wright.

you need ventilation holes.

Model car fuel. You cauld be running race fuel. It has not alot of oil so you get a lower engine life.

and (this is optional) something to tell you how hot your engine is running. that way the chance of toasting a nother engine will be less

Okay thanx guys.
Umn I ran humn my mind went blank sorry, but anyhow it was the blue stuff...I now run trinity horsepower break in fuel 20% in it, and my Rc-10. Maybe I should get different stuff for the T-maxx, I have a proline f-150 body on it and it has vents on the engine side and in back for the head.. and I also have it rich enough to be spittin out fuel pretty good..maybe Ill take it to the LHS and have em break in this one for a change just to be sure..
Thanx guys,
WileyC =/

nother note traxxas engines run hotter than most engines.

It would be better if you ran a fuel that has lots of oil like wildcat eliminator plus it has 18% oil towerhobies.com sells it.

I plan to try out that fuel in my engines.

I tend to run my engines lean and with lots of power so I get modify my fuel so it will run cooler. I use klotz oils and nitroblast fuel addative. running lean with this much fuel will still cause it to run cooler
