Would running an alkaline reciever pack on my E-Maxx provide more power to the four wheel steering system or would that be bad? Thanks for the help.

You'll simply want a higher-capacity 5-cell rechargable pack. 4 alkalines put out the same voltage and 5 recharable cells. With 4 servos working off the one pack, the higher the capacity the better.

Not "bad", but nicads would provide more power than alkalines (nicads have lower internal resistance at high current draw), especially if you are using multiple high power servos.

Thanks for your help! Being it is an E-Maxx would the extra voltage even help, or would I not even notice any gain over not having a reciever pack at all? Would the extra power fry the EVX?Thanks!

Oh, I missed that it was an E-Maxx. You don't need a receiver pack at all. The only reason you would is if you were running a lot of cells and it would over-power the Battery Eliminator Circuitry (Or BEC, which cuts the voltage of the main battery down to 6.0 volts to keep from frying the receiver), or if you are using only 4 cells, and in that case, the receiver wouldn't get the the full 6 volts and the servo might feel sluggish.

I wouldn't bother with a receiver pack in this case: You'll be fine running two servos like you would be running one.

Ok-thanks for clearing that up! The reason I asked was because i had plugged one in a couple of days ago and the steering seemed to have more turning power when the truck was just sitting on the ground, but I didn't try running with it. (It only had front wheel steering though) Thanks again!
