Hi guys,

I have been using a Spray paint that is designed for Body. (I belived the brand is called somthing like Pxxxx) I have been painting 6 bodies so far and using same exact method. (Painted very thin layer again and again until it won't see through it) But i don't know why it happened on 2 of the 6 painted body. The paint came off when i hold the body hardly. Is there any kind of "protective paint" i can spray on it after i finish? BecauseI have a HPI Micro RTR w/pre-PAINTED body and the body-color is Silver but i saw it from inside of the body w/ some kind of "protective paint" on it, that body paint last very long and never came off.

Thanks.

The reason the paint hasn't come off the RTR is because it isn't painted, its "filmed," the color is molded right into the body. When you painted the body, did you completely wash the body? Did you dry it completely? Did you paint the inside like Rival asked?

The lexan molds are sprayed with a waxy substance like Pam (differs for different manufacturers) so the bodies pop off the molds easily. This lubricant often transfers to the lexan. I always rough up the interior with light steel wool and wash it w. soap and water before painting, this should stop the problem.

Hi,

I painted from inside and may be like you guys said i did not wash & dry it throughly, becasue 4 of the 6 bodies that i painted did not have any paint came off. May be those 2 bodies have not soap and water throughly. BTW, Does soap & water on the body are so important before it painted? Why?

Thanks.

Basically for the reasons rock said. The molds are sprayed with a release agent that helps the body come off the mold. Some of those release agents are left on the body when you get it so its important for you to wash it before you paint it.
