ok, here's my delima: i am tuning 14 really soon (i am a beginner but i know a lot), and christmas as coming, hence i think my parents will help me buy my first monster because they are asking about how to order it.....
i am torn between the new t-maxx and the soon-to-be-released AE BFT. i will just be bashing and if i find some guys (or gals) to race with i might, but it's not going to be highly competitive just a fun thing. i will most likely get the maxx because it's already out, cheeper, and it looks good for a beginner.
I like the BFT to because of all the alluminum in the chassis, not much is plastic. the only problems are it hasn't been out long enough to be tested (hasen't even been released) ,it's more money, and it's not going to be out in time, and backorders will even prolong the time i will have to wait for the BFT.
what do you think i should do????????

The BFT(now called the Monster GT) will be out after x-mas, but will blow away the t-maxx, so my advice is if you can get your parents to buy it for you after x-mas then get the BFT, but if they want you to have something to open on x-mas, the get the t-maxx.

here check this out for the monster gt ( formerly BFT )http://www.rc10.com/shusting/CatalogHub/kitspecs_mgt/mgt_kits.htm
this has some info on the tmaxx http://www.traxxas.com/products/nitro/tmaxx/trx_tmaxx_review.htm
2.5 just means .15 it just sounds bigger
Sorry crashmaxx, but you don't know what you are talking about. First of all no one has seen a Monster GT run in person, second the GT's .21 much like the Savage's, is a bottom feeder .21. You clearly have not seen or driven the new Tmaxx (I have one) or you wouldn't make such a claim. A better .21 will give the Maxx a run for it's money but no way will it "blow it away". I have raced the new Maxx against my Hyper .21 8-port powered Monster Pirate and it's dead even until about 30mph and then the MP pulls away. The 2.5 is for real. The GT's top end according to Associated, is in the low to mid 30's.

I myself prefer associated over traxxas, but I did not want to wait for the bft so I went ahead and bought the tmaxx 2.5,,,,, DO NOT WORRY YOU WILL LOVE THIS TRUCK... It is amazing how fast it is on top, yet it can still wheelie no problem,, there not kidding whe they say wheelies on demand.....And it handles good,,,, I will also be getting a monster GT, but I can afford it, I would say though if I could oly have one, I would get the tmaxx,, the GT will be bigger and more powerful but probably no as fast and fun to just bash with,,,, go with the maxx and when you can get the gt to add to your collection,,,, just my 2 cents

I know that know one has seen a MGT yet, but IMO if associated makes it or designs it, it will kick butt. The new t-maxx is a great truck, and I will soon put that engine in my t-maxx, and will buy some of RPMs new longer suspension arms, but that doesn't mean that I won't get a MGT, but that x-factor looks like a fun project for me, easy to make custom suspension that would be really durable. So I don't even know whats best, but I know one advantage that the MGT has over the others, drill starting, but thats just because I hate pull starts and don't like using stick packs to start it.
Anyway, I think this really boils down to a preference thing, different strokes for different folks.

Ewwwww, X-Factor? That thing looks fragile and cheap, no offense.
I only suggest you to get the T-Maxx if you have a long supply of money .. They seriously become a money pit! Unless you just offroad (no constant/extreme jumping) I would recommend the Maxx over the MGT.
Of course, no one has seen the MGT run (except videos) so it's hard to say. But then again, when has Associated ever make bad products? Finally, don't forget parts support!! unless you want to wait for parts.

I know the x-factor looks like crap stock, but think it has a lot of potential.
Anyway, who knows what I'll end up with, I don't any money right now anyway. And if I get some money, I still need a MX-3, 2 engines and that rpm suspension before I will get another truck.

I would wait out for the X Factor to see how it is. Now that is the truck to get. BFT, bleh nothing exciting about another Maxx like truck. But X Factor with the cantilevers 4link solid axle, now that is a monster truck just like the Mad Force. Then again noone here knows just how well the Xfactor is gonna be. The BFT will definitely be loved because of the name and AE fanboys out there, no matter how good or bad it might turn out.
