Well, what do you WANT to upgrade? If you mean structural, I would go with the RPM parts or better yet, the Pro-Line or Traxxas longer arms. Avoid aluminum arms.

MIP CVDs are a good choice: Smoother and more reliable than the plastic sliders.

The truck is perfectly capable out of the body, so for easy and inexpensive hop-ups, new wheels/tires and a body are a good choice.

The 1st thing i did was put a new body on it, just to set it apart, then i basicaly just upgraded parts that broke.

Oh and stay away from RPM Arms, i hear they warp and bend aftertime... i've got their bumpers and shock towers- i defentlt recomend those.

Um as far as wheels and treds- wait. no reason to change the brand new tires, thats like going out and buying a new car and replacing the brand new factory stock set with a brand new set...... wait ti'll your rims start to fade (mine are now white, i plan on upgrading soon) and if you havent yet glued the tires, thn go ahead and get new rims and put the stocker treds on those.

as for performance- a tuned pipe and a new head are usualy the basic, then a new engine.

Hope this helps.

Actually, RPM now makes longer arms that are the same width as the Pro-Line/2.5 Arms. RPM arms are a good investment. They're cheap ($40 for a whole truck, compared to $100+ for aluminum), and can take a beating. I have chunks ripped out of mine from hitting stuff, but they still work great. The RPM Bumper (namely the front) is an excellent choice too. I've taken some chunks out of that, and even purposely run into small trees to test it out, and it's still holding up (can't say that for the bulkheads though, had to upgrade to aluminum to continue the tree-smashing tests).

Here's another thing that is a must. New shocks, or at least aluminum shock caps. The stock caps burst off all the time.

If you can break something made from RPM's nylon, tear down the whole truck and look it over, because that must have been a hellacious whack.

I heard RPM was making them longer, but didn't know they had yet. Once they do, go for the RPM stuff. The only advantage to the Pro-Line set is that it gives you better geometry.

Definitely stay away from aluminum: It's heavier and more expensive, and it can transmit a lot of the shock more flexible nylon would absorb into the chassis and other parts, possibly breaking them. Plus aluminum doesn't like to get dirty.
