I have an 8year old (or so) kyosho usa 1 nitro crusher with very little run time but in need of some mods OR a quick trip to the scrap heap.

I was never very happy with the clutch, center disk brake or the plastic diffs. I do have a friend who is a machinist and he might be willing to do some custom work...SO...should i bother? Admittedly i would love to buy a new RC truck but it's hard to justify it when i have one sitting in my garage that's mostly functional (not sure about the motor now as it has been sitting for some time).

save it or scrap it?

save it man this is a very good car, i have mine since two years, and well, there is not too much hop ups but really it doesnīt need too much, aluminium radio tray (for 1/4 scale servo) some better shocks, and the kyosho steel bevels for burns, ah and a radio box, you can see pics in groups.msn.com/monstertruckingusa1

I agree with crypt. With alittle TLC it will be a great truck. How long has it been sitting for? I had my for a few years but not much time to run it. To see pics of my go to valleyrc.tripod.com and if you need to ask any questions go to my message board.

How long has it been sitting for?

I ran it 2 years ago for a bit - it seemed to do ok but i lost a few teeth on the front bevel gear. I was looking at TowerHobbies for replacement parts and noticed they have hardened gears - do i neet to replace the entire set (bevel, counter etc..)?

The motor is an old 5 port Rossi - i was looking at getting the p/s redone by a fellow on this board i've been reading about - the motor has very little run time but is 10 years old...

thanks for the advice!

My wife is actually into this stuff too and i was looking for a truck for her so we could actually race around. I've been looking at the HPI Savage and am seriously considering it. Any other suggestions for a decent and comparable monster truck?

Look at the o.s. engines www.osengines.com, www.mecoa.com,www.ofna.com. I have a .21 o.s engine in mine and it's fast.

i like now two trucks, kyosho mad force and ttr ek4 (a new better version is coming out before the end of the year) but really i canīt decide about it (to buy a newer truck, i īll wait for the peopleīs testing it almost two or three months since itīs on the market) about engines iīll buy the ofna .25 (2.4 hp) like a racing .21 but more torquer.
