I just got done with my installation of a Homelite 32 cc engine from a chainsaw in my 55" Scarab and yesterday when I went to go test run it, it went backwards instead of forwards! I never looked at which way the engine rotated (clockwise). At first I thought I bought the wrong prop but I tried my friends and it did the same thing. Is there a reverse rotation prop that I can buy so I dont have to change motors?

I posted an answer for you in Int'l Waters.

If you have some knowledge of how the engine works and the tools to modify it, you can make that very engine rotate in a counterclockwise manner. Obviously, you will need to redesign the pull starter or create a different mechanism all around. After you can turn the engine over in the new direction, you are going to need to modify the timing, specifically the ignition. As you can see, it would be a lot of work and requires more advanced tools, knowledge, and material than your average joe has, not to say that you are an average joe. Another area of concern is the winding of the flex cable.
Seeing as this is a chainsaw and does not have a flex cable, I would check to see if your cable is wound the correct way for your engine's current rotation. If you got the current flex cable from a weedeater, simply use the other end if you find that your cable is indeed rotating the incorrect way. By other end, I mean the end that was left over after you cut the first piece off from. All this is assuming you are using a square drive. If you are using a collet and cannot weld or cannot weld professionally, I would recommend getting an engine that does rotate in a counterclockwise fasion or modify yours to do so because the manufacturers who make the collet cables do not make those which are wound for clockwise rotation.
In my opinion, it would be much easier to install an engine which rotates in a counterclockwise manner, however, that is just my opinion and I could be wrong! :)

QuickDraw is right, and the choice of clockwise rotation props
is very slim particularly BIG gas boat props.

Octura makes a X470 right hand prop.
What size of prop are you looking for?
