I must say I agree with ya on that one... it looks like a low budget re-incarnation of the terra crusher. it could have been a LOT cooler if they made it look more realistic. when i first saw it, it looked like a toy... no wait... it STILL looks like a toy... just my 2 cents American ($5 cdn.)

to be honest folks i actualy prefer it to the terra crusher version, but perhaps the bodyshell could do with a slight rework:D

Come on fellas, now you know it what's under the plastic that counts. What I want to know is, other than body, does it differ from the Terra Crusher?

RCtinkerman,

Here's my thoughts on the Wild Commando. From what I've seen in the pics and info I read about the Wild Commando. The only differences between the Terra Crusher and the Wild Commado is the Wild Commando sports a hummerish type of body and on-road tires. Where as the Terra Crusher sports a pick-up truck body and off-road tires. Everything else between this two truck are Identical. From the chassis and suspension to the engine and electronics.

Now that's the info I was trying to get. Thanks NitroRookie! Now someone needs to inform Tamiya what a Hummer really looks like. With the newer Monster trucks coming out with awesome realistic type bodies, that body on the WC is seriously lacking:confused: I understand Para is going to make 1/8th scale monster truck bodies. This is good:D

Ha! Ha!

You've got to be kidding! That is one UGLY TRUCK!

What were they thinking? Is this the same company that gave us all these awesome super realistic models all these years?

Maybe this one came off the Tyco or Radio Shack drawing board.:p

I personally like the Wild Commando. It's got a military look from the start, which I think is very unique. I think they should have gone with a more accurate Hummer body for it, but otherwise I'd buy the truck...if it came with .21 power.

That's what kept me from buying a Terra Crusher/Wild Commando and going with a Savage instead. Otherwise, they're awesome trucks, and how can you not like Tamiya stuff? Yeah, their cars aren't the fastest or best performing but they have their section of the market nailed.

It looks like a real cool truck to me. It reverses as smoothly as electrics, which is a bold statement to make! Its moderately fast (atleast it looks fast) seems like a real good off-roader to me. I really like it. If I had the money, I would get it! Its not really that ugly, I kinda like the way the body looks.

i think the engine has a 2 needle carb instead of the single on the terra crusher

TamiyaUSA told me this morning that they have no plans of releasing this truck in the US. If anyone finds out differently, please post your info.

I agree the thing is ugly, but being a veteran myself, I would buy it anyway. I know alot of military persons along with other vets that would buy it. It shows support for everyone with anything to do with the military. I think it shows something besides just the camo/militia type thing. Let's look at it as a "Dare to be Different" thing. :)
