just blew the dust off my T2, thinkin' of maybe running some races again with it. my question is this, is the old alum. tub chassis upgradable? i would like to use it's current (stock) suspension components and just mount them to a lighter chassis. will the T3 grafite or composite one work? thanks in advance....

The only chassis that works with the T2 is the T2 chassis. I'm not aware of any aftermarket chassis for it, but aside from the tranny mounting holes, it's similar to the old RC10T chassis. You could conceivably modify a 10T chassis if you can find one, or even make your own double-deck chassis from fiberglass or graphite.
I wouldn't bother: The T2 is still a great truck, and the stock chassis is excellent.

You are kind of lucky though. Most of the aftermarket suspension parts will work for the T2. Aluminium a-arms, plastic a-arms, all that stuff works. Not much aftermarket stuff for the T3. But that leaves it up to me to make my own parts.:D
I would just leave the chassis alone. It should be nice and strong. I think that if you can drive good, you will win races no matter how crappy your truck is(well, to an extent).

All the suspension components, save the rear bulkhead and shock tower, are used on the RC10GT trucks, so spares should be plentiful. You can also still buy all the T2 kit parts from Tower and other places.
Actually, going back to the origina RC10 buggy from 1984, you can keep any Associated vehicle running with spares currently available.
