Hm, not sure about that one, but I do know that Sears has some 40 watt Weller irons that WILL work fine & are under $30(maybe under $20). It even has the right kind of broad chisel tip that works best for our purposes...:)
your in pv? palos verdes? go to the home depot in
san pedro and check out the weller soldering irons
or go to hobby people in lawndale and get the weller soldering station $50.00 you will have to add the chisel tip for this and you can build batteries.

Weller 40watt soldering iron, $19.99 at most Ace, Home Depot, other hardware stores...
It has a nice fat chisel tip that doesnt lose the heat. I've had mine for over a year now, maybe over two..

Thats the Radio Shack iron I use. It works great. I added the "Iron clad" chisel tip thats also available from the Shack and that made an even bigger improvement.

You can really use anything as long as it has 30 or so watts. I picked one up at my hardware store for about 20 bucks and it is very good. By the way, is there a special solder i have to use to construct a battery pack?
Thanx
use deans solder or 60/40 rosin core.
