Hello All,

After looking at the plans for the AT-6 Texan on the Backyard Flyer, downloadable plans. I notice an amount of room for a minor, and easy modification, to where you won't go through the hassle of taking off the wing everytime you change battery packs.

Let's start:
(Veterans modelers, if you spot something please post, and your idea and suggestions, so I can alter, changes as we go)

Pic. 1. Battery floor Top view.

Lite balsa, glued to the mid. inner fuselage, up to where the battery has enough room to move and can easly be taken out.

I'm also planning a removable battery hatch, well, actually it's a removable floor.:) for easy access to the battery, and again for changing in a later future.

The canopy is glued to a 1/8" wood on the side of the battery hatch and on the bottom of the hatch is a 1/8" space, and 1/8" wood glued after the gap to insure security, so the floor wont move around in flight.

Here's the inner view. Once the floor is in place, the wood that's glue to the side of the top floor of the fuselage, snugly locks it in place:)

The canopy will then slide to the front end bulk head, held down with lite ply, that serves as a tounge, and the whole structure is then pulled in place w/ a rubber band.

The rubber band is looped in the servo formers, attached to the bottom of the fuselage, battery hatch floor.

Since I'm almost finish w/one of my conversion. I will try to finish this thread. I was lazy to put this together, because I already know that it can fly right out of my hand.

Thanks for the pm Admirer;)
