I have crashed my Wattage lightning a few too many times and personally I am getting a little tired of the lack of positive control of the model anyway.
So here's my delima,
I need to build a new airplane that would use some of the equipment that I already have.
Here's what I have:
two 5 cell 110mah nimh packs,
two lightning motors, about 6 lightning props,
one echarger motor, gearbox, and prop
So can you suggest a plane that I could build that would utilize some of this equipment?
Don't stick with those kind of airplanes, and the kind of specs, that it has, they don't grantee fun in R/C modeling, but there a lure to new comers $$$$.
Here's my suggestion. If you like to scratch build, check out the work of our Moderator, and Sr71fan as well, as other, but these two guys can come up with airplanes, of can convert almost anything, and at the same time, be able to fly them.
When I started, I got myself a FirebirdXL, nice flyer if you want to go really high and stay up there for a long time.
After that, I found myself buying and building. A good ARF's are GWS, and my favorite as well, as others is Watt-age (hobby people) Don't care much about Hobby Lobby, they cost too much.
Throw away your system and get into some real fun;)

You can use the Echarger motor and related items with an RFFS-100. I'm not sure about the Wattage Lightening motors as I haven't had any to evaluate but as long as they don't draw more then an amp they would be okay. We have our own Lightning model that is a pretty rugid ship but has conventional controls.

Thanks for the replies.
Right now I am actually building a Sig Kadet Seniorita to fly at the local field. The Lightning was just for buzzing around the ball field at school. :) But since its been beat up a bit and I like to have more control I thought I might be able to make something else out of these components.
Happy Landings,
