Joe, you think your brain is fried at 13, wait until you get to be my age! :D Anyhow, for some reason people don't seem to race outboard monos for some reason. I don't know if it's because they don't seem to handle as well as their full-sized counterparts or what the problem is. Could be all the weight hanging off the back plus trying to get the fuel tank high enough without it looking ugly and having to run the radio box far forward. If you plan on racing it, you have to run against much faster inboard boats.
The K&B is still the one to get, a great motor and lots of aftermarket parts.

In the IMPBA, a mono is a mono, whether it is inboard or outboard.

I know that NAMBA has an outboard class for outrigger hydros so they might be the one with the OB mono class also. We have 2 OB monos that I know of up here that are thrown in with the OB tunnels at some races and inboard monos at others, depends on the whimsy of the host club, whether they need help to fill a class or not.

Get hold of Brian Watts at www.rocketcityracing.com, he is the US distributor of AC boats. Good guy to deal with.

For the life of me I had a great runnning OB boat but can't remember the damn name? It was the boat that Prather ripped off, DeHoog? DeHauss? something like that. If you go to the old Bandit boats site http://www.banditboats.com/ you can get Skip Wagners # and call him. Actually go here http://www.bigdogengines.com/products.html
Here is something similar of what I ran. My boat was fast and could beat the inboards. I regret selling it on e-bay. They do run in NAMBA in the inboard class as well.
