What do you guys think of the nitro hammer boat from hobbico.
Do you guys think it is better then the nitro vee.
How fast do you guys think it goes.
Does anyone here have one ?
And also would it be a good platform to upgrade ? It has a fiberglass hull with a gelcoat. Would an o.s engine fit in it withought alot of mods.
How fast do you think it has the potential to go with new engine and mods.

Thank you !

You might not be getting any replys due to the relative newness of the Nitro Hammer. I've no direct info on the 'Hammer, but I'll give you a personal thought or two: With a .15 nitro motor in the 24-inch fiberglass hull the boat isn't going to be a super-fast out of the box, but the engine does come with dual ball bearings so it should last a long time. A fiberglass hull can usually be upgraded easier than an ABS one, and any number of O.S. marine engines should fit it, as well as other nitro marine powerplants. In stock form the 'Hammer might reach 20 MPH, but you might have to use 40% or higher nitro fuel to make it. Modified, the speeds are possibily much higher, but the with the money spent on engines, pipes and driveline updates you could easily double the cost of the RTR boat. For the beginner, the Nitro Hammer looks like a well-made boat to learn on, and with time, I'm sure they'll be modified to a point where they'll be discussed alot on this 'site.

Hope this helps,
RickE

yea.....
the aquacraft series is a suprising good thing from hobbico, if your'e having doubts about buying it, dont. its a solid, fiberglass boat and it should last a while. Like Rick said, it's new with alot of possibilities, should be seeing some stuff on it soon. An idea would be to drop a Kickbutt [K&B] .18 marine in it, that should give a bit more jump to the throttle, and that engine is meant for this excact purpose, replacing weak .15s.......i cant speak from experinece though.
