If your looking for a way to change out the OILITE BUSHINGS that came with your VILLAIN, check out www.bocabearings.com . they have a set of eight shouldered bearings that are sealed from the elements by a hard green rubber compound. These are direct replacements so no mods or drilling of the outdrives are required. They don't come cheap though, the set of eight for the VILLAIN was 39.95, but they do pay S&H on your order. Remember, the less drag, the faster the speeds!!!   Daniel M. Hallman, A.K.A. THE LAB RAT

I can not find any such thing as a 4x6 mm bearing with or without a flange. If you bought 4x8 mm flanged bearings you have got to replace the drive tubes.

You're right. But you ALSO HAVE TO DRILL OUT THE OUTDRIVE HOUSINGS SLIGHTLY, AND YOU HAVE TO DDILL OUT THE MOYOR SUPPORT BRACKET TO ACCEPT THE NEW STUFFING TUBES. YOU ALSO, ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTIONS THAT TRAXXAS FAXED ME, AREN'T ABLE TO USE THE "AUTOMATIC" STUFFING TUBE OILING SYSTEM AFTER YOU MAKE THIS CONVERSION. BOCCA TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS A STRAIGHT DROP IN PROCEDURE!! FUNNY THING IS I CALLED THEM BACK AND THEY COULDN'T EVEN COME UP WITH THE O.D. DIMENSION OF THE BEARING SURFACE. CONTACT TRAXXAS AND HAVE THEM MAIL,FAX OR E-MAIL THE PROCEDURE FOR REPLACING THE OILITE BUSHINGS WITH BEARINGS. YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE TWO NEW STUFFING TUBES, AND DO A SMALL AMOUNT OF DRILLING. YOU CAN ALSO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO SOLDERS SOME MINATURE GREASE FITTINGS ONTO THE NEW STUFFING TUBES AND AT THE FURTHEST POINT THATS ACCESSABLE DRILL OUT A SMALL HOLE IN THE STUFFING TUBE AND SOLDER A SMALL NUT ONTO IT WITH A SHORT SCREW THAT WILL NOT GO INTO THE STUFFING TUBE. THIS WAY WHEN IT COMES TIME TO RE-GREASE THE TUBES YOU'LL ONLY HAVE TO REMOVE THE SCREW TO GIVE THE OLD GREASE A PLACE TO COME OUT. I KNOW THAT THIS IS ALL CAPS, BUT IT PISSES ME OFF WHENEVER A COMPANY GIVES YOU BAD INFORMATION ABOUT THIER PRODUCTS LIKE "DROP IN PART, NO MODIFICATIONS NEEDED" ON THE UP SIDE THOUGH THE BOCA BEARINGS THAT I RECEIVED APPEAR TO BE MADE VERY WELL AND HAVE A GREEN RUBBER COMPOUND THAT SEALS BOTH SIDES OF THE BEARING. I READ A FORUM ON HERE ABOUT "QUESTIONABLE ADVERTISMENTS" BUT I THINK THAT I'M GOING TO START A NEW THREAD WITH A POLL FOR THAT ONE. Daniel M. Hallman...A.K.A. THE LAB RAT...

Here is all the information you need. If you read trough this you will find out DO NOT change the out drives. Drilling them makes them to weak.
