View Full Version : Say Hello to my HUMMER
This airplane is AWEEEEESSSSOOOME, it's off the HOOK:D
4:30 PM, somehow it's not windy around this time like it used to, I grab the Hummer, and drove down to a local, abandoned Sun Micro System. The used to be giant in amongst giant in the Silicon Valley.. Not anymore, now it's my new maiden and test area. Nice streets in side it's compound..
Now or never
Hesitant to hand launch her, so I ROG her instead. Full throttle towards the wind... Wooooooohooooooohoooooo.. She's fast, I just couldn't believe my eyes. I found a new passion, and that's in a challenge of conversion.
As soon, as I got home. I was so impress, that gave her signature look for tomorrow's Fun Fly:)
Check her out:cool:
AUW. 20oz:cool: ... here's the constuction link... The Hummer construction Pic. (http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=104105)

Hi Antonio,
Tell the Hummer I said Hello. Man, you are a one person model factory! I bet you have learned more about flying in 6 months or so than anyone I can remember. I remember the schedule you posted about your day-day activity, now I am really believing it. The Hummer looks real nice, and I am glad you enjoy the way it is going. Have you flown those purple cells above 8.0A and in temps around 50 deg Farenheit? I am trying to compare the high current, cool weather performance with the 500AR ni-cds I fly.
Take care, Dave
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the kind word:) .
****Have you flown those purple cells above 8.0A and in temps around 50 deg Farenheit? I am trying to compare the high current, cool weather performance with the 500AR ni-cds I fly. ***
I have been flying the Watt-age Reno Racer, and Mark Rittingers Python. Myself and other's that's flying these wonderful batteries to death have been flying them close to 11/20 amps, but what amazed us is that they stay warm, and not hot compaired to the AE's.
I love the HeCells; I flew the Hummer today w/ 600AE's, Mega x5T, and 7x5 prop. I only got 3min of flight, batteries where hot, with HeCells on the other hand, 8/9 min, batteries were warm, luke warm.
I love this conversion kit bashing that I’m doing, Dave. Nothing more fun, than spending my 2 hours after work, and trying to find a way to make it light and configuring the system placements. Glow kits are cheap compaired to Electric kits. Man, the reward is when I smile is felt ear to ear and can be seen a mile away.
***you are a one person model factory! ***
I am beginning to get that reputation. I like foam airplanes, I also like the warm place in the bench when the known modelers gathers around and ask me "Kit'e how did build that, in your sleep?" kit-e because I always have a new built kit to fly every Sunday...

Thanks JT,
She's a stunner.:) Thanks for the kind word.

Never wish about things, that can be done;) Soon you can do it too, takes a lot of dedication.
Yours,
2NG:)
