Is this boat out yet? Has anyone tried it?

It's not on the market yet that I know of. A lot of money for a boat that might go 35 MPH. I also hope the it doesn't have the driveline problems of the Shockwave. For the price, there are better and faster boats out there.

What are the drive line problems of the shockwave, in newbie speak please?

In laymans terms, the flex cable tube is not in alignment with the crankshaft which in turn puts stress on the flex cable, wearing it prematurely or breaking it. The flex cable collet, the thing that connects the flex cable to the engine, has had problems with either loosening or stripping the outer wires on the flex cable. If one of the Pro-Boats is still your choice, check the alignment before buying one and replace the collet. Also, the props are not sharpened or balanced from the factory, so this has to be done also.

Does the .15 Miss Bud have driveline alignment troubles?
If so, can we shim the motor to rectify this?
I should receive the boat this week, and I was going to tear it down to some degree and fix/mod any weak points I can identify.
I was thinking of reinforcing the stuffing tube where it goes thru the hull, just to avoid problems later. I suppose you can just lay some more 'glass on the interior.
I bought an auto-bailer from the LHS, and I read somewhere that a bit more closed-cell foam wouldn't hurt. I will eval. the radio box and mod that if necessary to avoid water intrusion.
Any other tips ?
Thanks
Mike

no-one's radio box seems to hold out against getting wet, be sure to put your servos and reciever in balloons while your testing it, judging by the common voice i wouldnt trust the box.

What we are talking about here is the 1/8th scale that is coming out soon, not the 1/12th scale that you are getting. Once you get it, you will find out that there isn't a lot of room to do much of anything. Your's will have a hard shaft and I am assuming that the 1/8th scale will have a flex cable setup in it.
