Well Radios and Recievers..

I have never owned a radio that didnt come with the RTR I bought so I have no experience in changing radios.. Say I have a RC10GT RTR Plus and want to use the MX-3 Radio on it.. The GT RTR comes with a 27mHz reciever. I want a 75mHz MX-3. Do I need to purchase a new 75mHz reciever for my radio to work? or should i just get a 27 MX-3 or what?..

The base frequency used in a radio (for instance, 27 mhz) only can be altered slighty, like changing the crystal from 27.275 to 27.425 not 27 to 75. the base frequency is designed into the circuit board itself. If you look at a 27 mhz radio, you'll notice the antenna is very long, and a 75 mhz antenna is short and is just enough wire to push through the tube with about five or so inches coming out of the end, for this reason I like 75 mhz better.

The Gt's stock radio is an AM system and is in no way compatible with FM systems. So you just use the receiver that comes with the radio.
