My buddy has the Maximum St and he broke off a piece of the servo arm that doubles as the throttle and brake.. The problem now being is we put on a new servo arm and as soon as you hit the brake it closes the throttle and dies,,It seems to me that when you hit the brake the throttle arm should stay put but it moves also..I have tried all day to figure it out with no luck and not seeing it before he took it off does not help matters..No matter what way we move the arm or adjust on the bars when the brake is applied it shuts the throttle also.
Any help would be appreciated

I don't know but I think there should be a screw at the throttle to keep it open. All you need to do is adjust it .

Just adjust the linkage to the carb so it doesn't shut the carb off completely when you brake. Should be a simple adjustment.

Make sure you have the brake applied, then adjust the linkage so the carb is opened just a touch. You'll never get it right without having the radio gear turned on and have your transmitter set to brake.
Then set the carb linkage and brake linkage

Do you mean the arms on the servo or the linkage that is attached to the carb and brake?

I tried but no luck ,,i must have adjusted that over 100 times and no matter what it closes the throttle completely when the brake is apllied,,
I have a Video about 5 seconds long but no way to put it up to view.

They're ok. There are better. But for the price they aren't bad.
They are fast, reasonably rugged and have a decent amount of hop ups. For your first nitro rc. I would say they are a good choice.

if I were to put a bigger engine in one how big do u think I could go?

I think the Max ST are plenty strong enough with the Torq. 16 they have now. I would be careful about putting a more powerful engine in it. I don't know how well it would withstand it.

I give up after dealing with this all day again with no good results,,,I sure am glad i purchased a T-Maxx and not a DuraJunk..I emailed support at DuraJunk, still no response, of course no one can compete with Traxxas level of Tech Support but a respose would have been nice from DuraJunk.
Does anyone alse have any ideas or suggestions that might resolve this problem before he tosses this over the bridge and into the river ?
Thanks

Dude, its his idle screw.... its the screw that should be under the carburetor... as you tighten it the carb opens and as you loosen it the carb closes and as long as that screw is there and you have it turned in at the right rate it should stop the carb from closing all the way... tell ole broman to whip out the instruction manual for his engine and read up on it... dont waste your days... tell me how you do

(BTW, its not easy to explain)

Thx for the reply but i have already tried it,,i have went as far to set the idle for him all the way up and when u hit the brake it closes the throttle completely and kills the engine,
The motor runs fine, including idols fine and the pinch test but he must of screwed it up when he took the broken sevo arm off.
If you are not familiar with this truck the Brake and Throttle share the same servo and when you hit the brake it also moves the throttle position closed,,,I do not know if this happened before he broke the arm,,,I have read his manual and set it as stated in it but it still does it.

heres a pic.... try to do that and tell me if it works.... the citcle with the line threw it looks like the top of it that you screw to the right to tighten it... try it adn the carb shouldnt close if you tighten it enough... not to much though becuase your idle will be too high..

Well we finally have it adjusted correctly,,,when my buddy stopped over today he decided to tell me he had moved a few other things also..so after several more adjustments on the linkage and moving the servo a bit its all ok now...
Thanks All
