HD, we took some pics this weekend. We had about 20 entries. We had an offroad electric stock class, offroad nitro stock class, and tmaxx class. It was a good turnout. There should be a website going up sometime early next year. Where are you guys located in Dallas, I might make atrip to race. Are you guys indoor or outdoor?

Email me the pictures Click here to email me (hdcchrome@yahoo.com)

I personally run ON and OFF road 1:10 and 1:8th scale. Never run indoors.

I am in Plano. The MAPQUEST did not work for me, so please email directions or give me a call.

Sorry about that, I'll just post here so everybody can see how to get here from the Plano area.

Take I-35 towards Waco, take the Hewitt exit (328), if you are coming from Dallas, take a right at the light and you will be going towards town away from I-35. From Austin take a left at the light and you will cross over I-35 and you will be going towards town. Go past the Dairy queen (on left), then at the next light, (hewitt drive) you will see a ceasars pizza, a 4.00 car wash, IGA, shopping center, at that light, take a right.

Drive all the way down, past Midway High school (on the right), then past the Whataburger (on the right).. When you get to ACE hardware (on the right), turn in there..(LaVillage Dr.) the track is directly behind ACE hardware.

Hope this helps...

Well, we have ran oval the past 2 weekends, but this weekend the offroad track should be ready to go, that is if the rain will stop longer than 1 day. It rained last night and most of this morning. We were supposed to be working on it tonight but I'm not sure now. I'll keep you up to date on every thing.

Hows everybody like the track in Hewitt now that its been open for a few weeks? Do they have a good race director, do the races run smoothly and what about the location is it a good one? I've also heard about a Track in Georgetown near the candle Factory. Hows that one? I used to race at the track in Killeen. How do these tracks compare to the track in Killeen. Has anyone raced there lately?

Well, the oval track is in real good condition except for turm one, the offroad section hasn't been opened long enough to get a good surface...it's really packed (allot of clay content), so bowties, fuzzies or mini pins I think would be the best to run with and some Pro-line Blade type fronts would work good.

As far as comparing it to Killeen, I would have to say Killeen is better, but they aren't really anything alike. Waco has 15' lanes all the way around and Killeen has 10-12' lanes. Killen is more technical and Waco is Faster. Killeen has been run on 1000 times more than Waco, so it has a better surface. Give Waco some time and the offroad may be very comparable, that is if the director wants to do anything with the offroad. That's my take on it...hope it helps.:D

Good call on what type of tires work. I didn't even think about that. Last time I raced at Killeen the tire of choice was Pro-line Stubbie Ts or Losi ifmar studs. That should tell you how long its been since I ran off-road. I think S3s worked real good on the on-road.
What type of tires/inserts work on the on-road track in Hewitt? I hate to show up and not have the right stuff.
I would also know if hewitt has a regular schedule they run on. Like what days and that kind of stuff. I know Killeen runs Saturday Afternoon and I think they might run on road once or twice a month in the morning, not sure.

Rc..you're talking to the wrong person on the onroad stuff. I honestly couldn't tell you what to run. I would call the owner on race times for the onroad. It will most likely be this spring before he can get the equipment to run a course and it would only be on Sundays. You can call him at 254-666-8020...his name is Jason. Sorry I couldn't help out.:(

By the way, do you still run offroad? What kind of truck/buggy do you run?

jdavid2002

Rc...If you want, I can put you on a email list, along with some other racers, and send you weekly emails of race times, special events and parts & accessories specials. It's totally up to you, just email me at jdw23_2000@yahoo.com if you want to be put on the list. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to give Jason a call. Sundays would be a perfect day for me to race on road. I plan on racing Off road in Killeen on Saturdays. Maybe you could Jason to post here what works for on road. Tires and set-ups for the different types of cars. I personnelly run a TC3.
