hi
i am a rc newbie, but i am very interested in that hobby. i have a new t maxx and after some problems and repairngs i finally got it running well. but my question is why my t maxx cant make any wheelies. it is not tuned i have most oft the factory standrards on.
i am driving my maxx on dirt with some gravel in it most kinda upwards a hill. ( our street) . can it be that its making no wheelies bcouase of the ground? or do i have to tune the engine before it does wheelies

Make sure your slipper clutch is not too loose or your wheels slipping on the tires. If that is ok, you may need to keep trying to tune it in or possibly contact traxxas for advise.

What problems did your Maxx have? You may have messed something up putting it back together. Heck, I know I did with my Maxx!!

You said, "...it is not tuned..." Do you understand how to tune an engine? It isn't something that you take to your LHS and they do for you. It's making the engine run with the right fuel/air mixture to make lots 'o power. If you don't understand tuning, search for it on this board. There have been many posts about it. If you don't wanna do that, you can either PM or Email me and I'll try my best to explain it.

You're 2.5 Maxx should wheelie in water it's got so much power (just kidding...don't try it). Even with your surface the wheels should be pulling off the ground. Once you get your truck tuned right, then you will be flipping over backwards with power.

i hope it will flip over. i turned the highspeed needle a bit counterclockwise, because my maxx tried to crawl forward while it was standing. i put everything together right itr was just front suspension stuff. i dunno how to tune an engine. it made a wheelie once but that was all. i dont know whats wrong i think i got one of those who are just bad and broken and will never run:(

try leaning it out a little.. and close up your idle stop a little. there should onluy be a 1mm opening in the carb

You lean the engine by letting less fuel in (turning the needle clockwise). You richen the engine by letting more fuel in (turning the needle counterclockwise). Check out that site I PM'ed you. That should help ya.

Hope you can read english well or that your manual is in german. READ THE WHOLE MANUAL. Everything you need to know about your new Tmaxx is in the manual, specifically what needle does what. The 2.5 is a powerful race engine, not having a clue about tuning can be hazardous to your engines health. Go to www.traxxas.com, a very good guide to tuning there and try the Traxxas Tmaxx forums, lots of help there also. Good luck.
