I'm having an exhaust issue with my T-Maxx project. I have, what is now called, the old t maxx. I used a Hardcore racing .21 kit and the OS .21 RG P X motor, with a pull start. I also have a tuned pipe, of course. I need a header that won't interfer with the pull start, and that will put the exhaust out the right side, where the original t max pipe went. The OS web site says to use a header that puts the exhaust out the left side, and that won't work because that is where the gas tank is. I know there are lots of round port headers that will put the exhaust out the right side, but I need one that will fit onto my motor. I know that many of you have put this same motor in a maxx conversion, and I'm hoping some of you used the Hardcore racing kit, and can tell me how to solve this problem. I would love to run the exhaust out the back, but I heard that isn't available for my motor. Help!
Thanks,
Steve:)

Thanks!!! I will order these parts right away. One question, this header adaptor will fit my motor and allow me to install a standard header that won't hit the pull starter? My .21 motor came with a header adaptor that looks like the one you are suggesting, but there is not enough room to put a header on it because of the dam pull starter. If all of this is correct, which header did you use?
Thanks again!

hey I put the .21 in my t-maxx too. I use the Close Header for .21 Engines http://www.neweramodels.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?part_id=208 that is the one I use it work good..

Yup you can run what ever header you want and it won't hit.I used a dynamite header and a paris AL650 for my truck. that combo worked great for that engine.also when you install the adapter don't forget to install a little gasket sealent around it.

Oh yea one more thing you might notice when you get the header and pipe together that there not enought room. (I had to do this to) you need to trim the header alittle bit,but its easy it's only aluminum grad a hacksaw or a dremel.

yea i had to cut my header and my pipes so they would go together.......

Thanks to everyone for your quick and very helpful replies. Looks like I have a few options. I just need to remove the stock header adaptor and buy/install the Blot On Header adaptor you've suggested. I then can use any header and put the exhaust out the right side, down through the chassie hole. Too bad they don't have a round port setup that would allow you to make it rear exhaust.
I'm not real clear as to why the header needed to be cut, was it too long, meaning the header and pipe together hit the receiver box, so you shortened it?
By the way, what spur and clutch bell tooth numbers combo did you guys use? What was your top end speed, if you know?
Thanks again all!

yea I shortened it because it will hit the receiver box..and I used the stock 20 bell with the robinson racing 66 slipper assembly.

I use the stock 20 tooth and the a 66tooth spur gears too. I think it will give you about 30-35mph or more i think...........

Somebody at a hobby shop told me I should expect 65mph with the OS .21 RG motor, but they didn't say with what spur gear. I think I have a 72 tooth, with stock clutch bell.
They also didn't know that I added a ton of eye candy parts, mostly Hardcore Racing stuff.
Thanks again,

:(
Wow, I thought it would be a little faster than that. Hell the new T-Max does that with a much smaller motor. I hear folks get their T-max up to 65mph for sure, but they must use a different motor and setup. I know the spur gear and clutch bell can change the top end by a lot. I just bought a radar gun, and can't wait to test all this out.

No 65, oh well. It sounded cool. If 40 is the max, then what truck is the best out there right now? I might buy a second truck, and would like something else to compare it to.

I wanted to build a kick ass T-Maxx that would go about 50 to 55. I may upgrade to the RZ motor, as I know that would do it, if I everything else can hold together with that much HP.

I already did. About $5k worth. I don't think I have more than a few stock parts left. Mostly Hardcore Racing stuff. I must have brain damage to put this much time and money into this thing!

I have a black hummer buddy on it now, with blue lazor headlights, and red tail lights, and the brake lights work too. I just bought the new Ford F350 crew cab truck body, made for 14 inch wheel base. It will fit my chassis much better than the hummer body. But, the hummer body still looks cool. I'll get some pics soon. I also put the K&N .21 air filter on it, which looks killer.

They are not cheap, but the are a very nice product. I think I paid about $200, which included blue lazor headlights, red taillights, and the taillight switch.
I'll take a few new pictures of my truck and post later in the week.
