For someone wanting to race competitively, not bashing. Which would cost less $$$ over the long run. Nitro TC? or elect TC? Comparing a TC3 and a NTC3? At first I would say nitro, but after thinking about it I would say electric. Just think of the motors the lathe, and numerous battery packs. Any thoughts?

If you go brushless I say electric will be less expensive. Since the motor last almost forever. You will only have to buy a new battery pack every 2 years maybe...
You will need a good charger.
In nitro, you must buy the fuel (30$ CAD/gal), change the piston&sleeve&connecting rod every year. Change the bearings of the motor after a while.
You will need a plug heater, a starter box, receiver battery pack, etc.
Make your choice.

I would say electric goes faster and cheaper. With bl you have 10+ min runtime and then you can switch batts and drive 10+ min more. electric has better rcelleration and with bl you can also have higher top end speed. since bl use neodyium magnets they last forever, or until simething needs replacing like the bearings (1-2 every ten years) or there is a better controller.

Definitely Electric is cheaper over long run : Nitro breaks more parts, the engines are much more expensive and don't last as long as electric motors and so...
An electric car might be more expensive when you buy it, but you're not obliged to buy a lathe (I've been racing ten years without having one and I still don't have...), the packs last something like 2 years... So you don't need to go BL, and if you read the topic, it's for racing, not bashing, and BL is not for racing, not for the moment...
