This is my first full-house (aileron, rudder, elevator, throttle) scratch build. Wing and tail surfaces are meat tray foam with main wing covered with ripstop nylon. Main wing is undercambered.

GWS R4P RX
Pixie-7 ESC
3 GWS BP101 Servos
DC1524 11.6:1
ARC-1 Prop
3-cell 550mah LiPoly
157 sq.in. wing area
6oz. AUW

With the above setup, it is a gentle flyer that can do some nice aerobatics when asked to do so. It can fly within the space of a basketball court.

Plane was also flown with a GWS DX-A, 10x4.7 or 9x7 prop, and 2-cell 950mah LiPoly pack. End result was higher weight, shorter duration, and less performance. Minimum flying area is the space of a basketball court.

On an M100 with GWS 9x4.7 prop and 2-cell 950mah LiPoly pack, speed was faster due to more weight but with additional power. Minimum flying area is the space of at least two basketball court.

On a Team Orion motor geared 4.17:1, GWS 10x4.7, and 2-cell 950mah LiPoly pack, power is awesome. Verticals are unlimited and inverted flight can be sustained even with undercambered wing. Unfortunately, this setup is too hot for my 3-court flying area.

All in all, it serves as a nice full-house trainer and can do a whole lot of aerobatics depending on the power system used.

This is my second full-house scratch build. Wing is flat bottomed and is made up of carbon fiber, balsa, and foam with Ripstop covering. Tail surfaces are meat tray foam. Profile fuse is 3mm zepon sandwiched between two sheets of 1/32 balsa. Tail wheel is coupled with rudder for ground steering.

GWS R4P RX
Pixie-7 ESC
3 GWS BP101 Servos
GWS S2 Drive, 7x6 prop
2-cell 950mah LiPoly
150 sq.in. wing area
7oz. AUW

With the above setup, it is a fast flyer. I have not yet done some aerobatics with it as the CG was too far aft and had a tendency to spin when slowed down. I have created a secondary wing mount that is 1/2 inch back from the first. I have also made some cuts which removed around 8 grams. I still have to fly with these changes though. It probably needs a 3-court area for comfortable flying as it likes to fly fast.

But on an M100 with stock prop, CG was dead on and power was visibly higher. Speed was faster and glides well.

I can probably remove at least a whole ounce of weight if I rebuilt it. As of now, it is not a trainer, at least not when flying in my small area.

I also have a lighter and semi-symmetrical wing currently under construction. Wing area will be around the same.

This is my IFO-Mouse hybrid (aka. Franken-IFO) rebuilt with new Ripstop covering and balanced elevons. Currently, it is just elevon control while waiting for a 3rd servo for rudder.

Sky, Hooks, and Riggings RX/ESC Hybrid
2 MX-30 Servos
DC1524 11.6:1
ARC-1 Prop
3-cell 550mah LiPoly
under 5oz. AUW

With the above setup, vertical is possible for most of the battery charge. It can also handle winds less than 10mph. It is a great flyer in the IFO tradition. All acrobatics possible with elevons are a snap to do. I can't wait for the 3rd servo for even more aerobatic action.

Jun,

I dig the second one:) care to share plans?

Sorry, no plans. All I have is a 2-view of the top and side. Just like most of my scratch builds, I use the TLAR (That Looks About Right) method on the wing airfoil.

Here is a another. This is my rebuilt Pushy Galore with a full fuselage. This is an all GWS affair using the EDP-50 direct drive motor and 3x2 prop. AUW is 6 oz. with a 2-cell 950mah LiPoly pack. Picture shown is with landing gears removed.

This is supposed to be my designated indoor pylon racer. Unfortunately, it's current speed does not do justice to the original, full-size version.:o Hopefully, the lighter and sleeker wing I am planning to build will give it more zip.

Consequently, the wing shown here was given bigger ailerons, top and bottom covered with Ripstop, and then transferred to the white full-house flyer shown above. Talk about reuse.:D

Finally, I ought to remember that the original is yellow. It is its sister the Pushy Cat that was white.

Hello Jun,
You really have been busy lately. Scratch building can be a lot of fun, eh? Especially when the results actually fly;) I have been stuck in my own little corner so long I don't recognize a couple of the products. The M100 motor & 950 Li-Polys-- Where can I get specs and a source?
Thanks, Dave

Dave,

Yep. I've been busy. Best part of it all, my wife has been helping with a few design ideas.

As for the M100, you can get them at:

The 950mah Lipoly you can get from:
