TXBlueBeast,

So what are you building? ON or OFF road and NITRO or elec?

TXBlueBeast

HPI Super Nitro Rally....so I guess it would be considered both on and off road

Yo, Im in Allen! I've got a T-Maxx with a Trinity/Picco XP-15. My dad's got a Nitro Quake. Maybe we should meet up at T&T RC Cars one raceday. Or maybe over at Indy RC if we want to run Off-Road. Let's try to work something out.

XXXtacy,

Hey...lets meet at Indy this Saturday!!!! You run XXXNT and so do I.

Do you run anything else? We can pit for each other if we are in different heats.

I have two Drakes pimped out and ready to run. First one has a O.S. 12 TR and the other has a Picco 12.

If they had 1:8 scale MT race I would join that too, but they never do.

I also want to run my 1:6 monster buggy GAS!!! Man this thing is insane, get one if you can!!!!!

I'd be interested after I get my Savage this xmas. I'm in Allen.

I live in Plano so I'll be interested. Only thing is I don't have the car yet. I plan on getting the NTC3 and modifying it to run as a rally car so I can play off-road and race on-road. I did look at the HPI Super Nitro Rally and talked with Indy but nobody seems to race the Super ten class so i opted for the NTC3.

I need to first get some things done with the house such as get a room setup as my office so I can work without the rugrats getting into everything. So hopefully, I should be up and running by Spring. I usually monitor this board so just post here when y'all plan on racing.

thanks.

Yep I'll be there and I think my bro's gonna be able to run this weekend too. We've both got the Losi trucks and hopefully some 1/8 buggies soon.

Indy's getting pretty competitive in the gas classes.

TXBlueBeast- definitely come check it out & say "wassup". Indy is a very friendly place and you'll find all the help you need to get started.

See ya there!

Hey guys, thanks for all the response. I am in this hobby in a sick way:D :D :D

I like to run in all nitro classes ON or OFF road. Why don't you guys send me an email with ur REAL name and we can all hang out an Indy Saturday????? Tell me again in the email all the classes you run in (ST, Buggy, MT, etc...) I like to run in all the classes.

Anyone ever seen a QUAD run? They are a blast!

Any of you guys run ON road nitro?

Hhm, Saturday's no good for me. We're leaving for Christmas vacation. I'll have to join you guys after christmas.:( Also, I'f all i've got is my Maxx Indy doesn't have class for me. Not sure I want to race anyway, nerves. Maybe we could met up there on a Sunday and just bash around. PM me if anything gets planned.

Eric,

I understand where you are coming from. I am not a PRO but I love to build and run these things!!!! I think I am better running my real Yamaha QUAD then I am at these little ones, but there are all too much fun.

The different classes with each of their different driving styles make it all a blast!!!!!!!!

So you have a 1:10 scale Maxx and your Dad has the Quake which is 1:8th I believe. I don't have a Maxx, but I do run a modified Quake.

So you both going to run this Suday or after Christmas?

hdcchrome,

I'm definitely up for racing but now i'm in a quandary about which car to get.
Now i'm thinking of getting a buggy and modifying it as a rally car since a buggy can handle more rallying than a road car. also, with a buggy, i can mess around with it more in any vacant lot.

Any suggestions of which scale and which buggy to go with?

thanks.

If you want both, try the KYOSHO Land Max

flix
12-21-2002, 08:30 PM
that's exactly what i was just looking at. With the LandMax 2, i've got a good rally car and because the parts are interchangeable with the inferno 7.5, I hear that it can be easily converted to a buggy. this way, i can race with other buggies.

what's the dallas scene in terms of scale? do you see more 1/8 or 1/10?

thanks.

Where were you looking at one? I have one :) Neat cars and yes they will convert with no issues. 1:10 on road is more popular and BOTH scale for off road.

Next time I will remember my damb 1:8 scale starter box too:D

hi,

i've actually gone full circle and have decided to go with the HPI Super Nitro Rally. I can convert that to 1/10 MT with the standard MT parts so that i can race off-road. this way parts will also be cheaper than 1/8. The Kyosho stuff was starting to add up.

txbluebleast: how do you like your SNR? I'll probably get it from the new hobbytown in Dallas later this week. there's a guy there that really knows his stuff on HPI. He used to race those cars.

hope to see you guys soon.

thanks

great, let me know how well it runs on the off road course at Indy and your impressions.

I'm gonna be out of town for a couple of weeks so I'll debate between the super nitro rally or landmax 2. if your nitro rally runs well at indy, i'll lean towards getting that. right now i'm leaning towards the landmax 2 because i hear it can take buggy courses pretty well. just need to be careful landing those jumps wheels down. don't want to mess up the body.

thanks

I might be.... I picked up a set of those turnbuckles and still need to put them on my car and I also need to pick up a new set of tires already. Either my alignment caused them to wear down quickly or those tires aren't for the street. Oh well, I should be ready to play this weekend :D

Btw, I saw on another message board that you are putting together a permanent road track somewhere in Plano. How's that coming along?
