OK, Tamiya has converted several of their 1/35th scale tank models to R/C, and they are about $100 with everything but paint and batteries. Has anybody tried them? I'd like to get one, but I'd like to know what people think of them first.

oh man, I saw one at the hobby shop yesterday. Some guy brought his in to show the owner what it could do. You could hear the diesel sound from 40 fet away, clearly. This thing was utter sweetness. I think it was a Tiger.

That was probably the 1/16th scale ones. Those are awesome: Full sounds (Engine, gun, mechanics) rotating turret, raising and lowering gun, and even lights or flashes from the ends of the guns when they fire. They also have a full laser-combat system you can bolt in. The only problem is they will cost about a grand total once you get everything you need for them.

The ones I am talking about are the smaller (By about half) 1/35th scale tanks. Basically they took their static model tanks (1/35th scale is their standard for military models) and added radio control to them. They are less than $100 with the radio, and look pretty cool.

I want to try one, but I don't know how well they would work from the R/C aspect. I was hoping somebody had tried one, but I guess they are too new.

The 1/16 ones are sweet though, but they are a bit pricey.

Tamiya 1/16 U.S. M26 Pershing T26E Tank $699.99 (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCCF5&P=7)
