s most of you know i broke a right-front dog bone on my new maxx on x-mas day, and had a new one shipped to my uncles house down here in Florida. Well the part wasnt due untill yesterday (Mon-12/30), so i had to wait all weekend untill i could experiance its thrills again. I got to saturday morning. Friday i was looking at the RCCA rev. of the Sportf maxx, and they had a pic of the tranny where the brake is and a caption that said it was ready for a a dog bone. So i thought, hey! If the sport maxx dosn't have the front diff's connected, then it's not going to hurt if i take all the shafts out of the front!
SO i did, tore them all out! Left the diff in there though, no much trouble to get to. Bolted every thing up and went outside.
SWEET! big rooster-tails of sand from the rear treads as i gunned the throtal! Then monday i took it to my grand-ma's and there is a vacant lot, no a HUGE vacant lot across the street. I let her rip in there- SWEET!! I laided the shocks down for better handling.
Can you say DONUTS!!!! there was one part of the 'lot that had some dirt and sones you often find in parking lots, and every time i went through it, it would just swing around and around and around. The inside tire would balloon up and spray rocks everywhere! It was accually leaving black skid-marks!!!! If i was to stop in the loose stuff and gun it, the torque from the engine just had id going it circles forever!
It was cool...... i put the new shafts in last night and see how much differance 2wd made..... i'll lt you know.
Oh and later, i'll post pics on how to do this- the EASY WAY (unlike me, poping out all the u-joints, that was HARD!)
