I just got everything hooked up on my T3 and have a few questions.
First, one of the rear wheels is making a soft thumping noise on every rotation, what could this be?
Next, The rear shocks seem very stiff, even without any preload spacers, i think this has something to do with the CVD's i just installed.
Next, The servo is constantly making a little noise, like the motor in it is turning, how do i fix this?
Last, how should i break in my P2k2?
thanks

Is it a brand new car?
Rear wheel - check for any binding, or any incorrectly trimmed parts. Is possible something has got glued in with the try and insert as well.
Shocks - check they are not over-filled with oil - with the springs off, they should compress smoothly to the limit, and then rebound about 1/2 way back out. Check the CVD's are the right size, and are spaced correctly so the supsension moves freely through the whole travel (check with shocks off). Also check the shocks are assembled correctly.
Servo - often they do make a noise - the time to worry is if it is glitching.
Break-in - 4-cells for a couple of minutes is what I do.

Its almost brand new,
the shocks worked fine before the cvds, so i will mess with that and see what happens.
I dont know what could be causing the rear wheel to make that noise, it deosnt seem anything is binding.
For the break in, i dont have 4cells, just 6cell packs, should i just run a pack through bout have throttle?
thanks for the help so far

I think i got it figured out lol hey does the thumpping happen when the cvds are installed? if so they are to long that would cause the problem with the shocks also...if it still happens with out the cvds in it then id have to ssay also look for something not meshing correctly in the drive train.. as for the servo its no big deal but if you dont want that noise then use your steering EPA so its not making that noise

i took off some of the shims on the CVD's and that fixed the shock problem but now the CVD can move backand forth a little bit, is this ok? i still have that thumping noise. I know its coming from the wheel, or around the wheel. I will take a look at the drivtrain though just to be sure.
thanks for the help

i dont have cvds but i do have cva's and there is a little bit of movement in them.as far as the thumpping have you looked to see if the knuckles are hitting the rims.or the tires are all on correctly and you dont have a loose rim do you?

I have checked the knuckles and they arent hitting the rim, i have tightened the rim down pretty good and it still makes the thumping noise so i dont have a loose rim. Could it be something in the bearings or knuckles?
thanks

you sure its near the wheel? take a look at the bearings it might be a bad one but they usually grind or are loose from blowing them out.

i took the bearings out and looked inside the knuckle and didnt see anything, i just got the bearings yesterday so they couldnt be bad. The CVD's seem to be turning smoothly in the bearings. I dont seem to hear the noise as much when im on the throttle. as soon as i let off the throttle and the truck is coasting, thats when it makes the noise.
This is frustrating
thanks for the help so far

With CVDs rather then taking shims out it's better to move where they are...inside or outside of hub carrier. That will shift the depth of the CVD. As for the thumping noise if it's really soft sounding and only happens when the car is not on the ground then it's probably that your tires are out of balance. This is quite common and has no noticeable effect on the cars handling (to the average driver).
