Help! I want to get started in the scale model hobbie, but all I've done is a kit 3.5 tunnel hull. I have aquired a set of plans for a real full size cabin crusier and I want to make a scale model of it. The only problem is that the crusier is very modern with curves and a bow thruster and twin screws and it has dozens of different hull hull/body curves that are needed for the model, but I have no Idea how to get started with the model. I was given all the bulkhead locations and drawings of the bulkheads to scale, but I don't know what to do. If someone could help me it would be very grateful. Also, i need help sececting running hardware, I want the bow thruster to work, I want twin screws, which I want to use two windsheild wiper motors for. please please help me out. Thanks.

You might want to try building from a kit first if you aren't confident in your building skills. It doesn't have to be difficult if you take your time. It is too big a project to describe how to do over the internet though. If you have the plan in the exact scale you want to build then just cut the bulkheads out of plywood. If the scale isn't right you will have to do some calculations or take it to your local blueprint shop and have them scale the plans for you. Remember to plan out your hardware location before building. Graupner makes the only bow thruster I know of http://www.hobby-lobby.com/scaledrives.htm

i'm also new in this hobby too. but the problem is is that i don't like kits. the idea of taking somethng premade and piecing it together isn't very appealing to me. neither are the high prices. i was hoping if anybody knew where i could find detailed plans, or, a site where i can download some specs. of ribs or something. thanks, joe.
