I am racing at a indoor track. This track is mostly speed. I am wanting to buy a new motor. I am trying to decide which motor to buy between the Green machine 3 / Reedy MVP / Orion Core. I am racing in the stock buggy class with a RC10 B3 FT ( can't wait for the B4). Any opinion on the subject would be helpful.
Thanx

I would say the MVP. I have had a Green Machine 3 and it is a good motor... dont get me wrong, but the MVP is a much better motor.

If your track is all about speed I would'nt get either of the motors you have listed. I have and MVP and a Orion core stock in my FT T3, the core has mondo torque and the MVP has a mix of mid-to upper range power. The best motor choice for you would be the revenge of monster stock, it has more power and speed than the GM3. The best motor out now for that speed you need in stock class.

Agreed, if you can gear it right(& the Monster may be the most difficult to get just right), I'm not sure anything can touch it on a speed track. That's why it was the motor of choice at the Novak US Touring Car Champs. I tried my other good motors too, but once I got a good gearing for my Monsters I started turning in my best lap times by far(it carries speed VERY nicely, better than any stock motor I've had yet), & I mean I was AVERAGING about 3-4 tenths of a second per lap better with a Monster. If you can get it geared right, I think you'll like it a lot..;)

Just out of curiosity, what was your good gearing ratio?

I would try the Monster for now and look at the Reedy Cobalt in a few months...

I used a final drive ratio of 7.5-7.8:1 in my TC3 on a good sized track(in the Novak US Touring Car Champs in Milwaukee), & it worked well there. But that won't help someone with an offroad car much(two completely different animals)...
