Well last night I was running my truck and I broke a rear half-shaft. I had my mom go to the hobby shop while I was at school today (its near a greenhouse that she always goes too anyways). She asked them for part "#4951X" (i highlighted it in the parts manual just to avoid confussion :) ). They told her that they are out of stock and wont have them in for a while because the break so often. So instead they sold her a pain of Proline MIP CVD's. I looked online about them and it looks like they are ment for the Proline MAXX suspension kit, and might not fit the stock suspension. They told my mom it would, but they really dont know what they are doing 80% of the time. So will it fit the stock setup? thanks for the help :D

Is your T-Maxx the new 2.5 model? Or the old one?

If its the old one, they lied. Those CVD's are too long for your T-Maxx:(

Go return 'em.

Yup, you guy the shaft by these guys. If you want CVDs, I believe MIP makes a set to fit the old suspension. If not, make the shop order the sliders, and if they drag their feet, as in do no write it down right then and there, then go someplace else.

opps sorry, its the 2.5

I have fully taken apart the rear, I think they will fit, I just want to be sure before I put the thread lock on.

So they will fit the 2.5?

thanks for the help!

I'm pretty sure the new 2.5 suspension is the same length as the Pro-Line kit for which those CVDs were designed.

I've read reports that the Proline MIP CVD's fit the 2.5 Maxx.

Well I'm going to find out because I ordred a 2.5 Maxx upgrade and the Proline suspension kit. They should fit because their the same size. If not..."You can sell it on E-Bay."

But in all likely hood it should fit

Yup they sure do fit, i've used them with a 2.5 suspension, a proline suspension, and i am using them now with my Unlimited Engineering Suspension. I Promise they fit.. they last too, mine have taken 1.5 gallons of abuse for my .25 and no significant signs of wear yet.

As you will see in this picture, they are perfectly straight

Ok well I am starting to put them together, and I have it figured out ecept for how the drive cups go onto the Diff. Are they on permanent. How do the M5 screws go into the cups because they seem to be able to go in either way, I know that bar has to go in and then the screws go in, but I am not sure how. If someone can explain, I would apreciate it.

Basically, I just need to know if the steel drive cups are supposed to be able to come off the diff once all installed and you wanted to take apart.

umm, i'm not sure i understand what you're asking, ANYTHING you install on your truck should be able to come off somehow, the mip drive cuos don't use tha screws that go thru the whole in the diff, they brace against the flat edges of the output gear. make sure you use loctite. I hope i answered your question.

So you dont put anything through the hole in the steel drive cup to keep it on the output shaft of the diff?

ok, you'r mip cups came with some set screws, use the set screws. it's really not that complicated i don't see what you're having a problem with...... put the drive cup onto your diff, screw the set screw in.... Done. Maybe you should take it to your local hobby shop and have them elaborate a 2 step process. Not trying to insult you or put you down or anything... just don't see what the problem is.
