Yesterday i was really board So i busted the new maxx out (maxx with 2.5) anyways! fired it up started like a champ! and ran like a theif in the night! And after the first tank! i shut it down(pinched the fuel line to the carb) and let it cool down! remind you i am in MN and the roads were dry and it was about 34 outside! went in to eat quick about 10 to 15 minutes came back outside to fire it back up for tank to! Sum @itch wouldn't start! the easy start motor just kept spinning but would turn the motor over! so i took the glow plug out tipped it upside down and the easy start worked fine! (thinking maybe it was flooded) So popped the glowplug back in tried it again same thing! easy start motor spins but doesn't spin motor. Every once in awhile it will catch and pop the motor over quick! but won't hold it! *** do i do! or check! I did do the after run oil in the cylinder and carb also took the air hose from the compressor and cleaned it off!

*** no one has any ideas???
How much ARO did you put in? WD-40? sounds like your 1-way bearing is slipping but almost nobody is having this problem with the new Maxx because the 1-way has been re-designed. Remember to only use about 5 drops of ARO and if you use WD-40 (what Traxxas recommends) only a one second blast in the carb and one in the plug hole. As a side note, I used WD-40 in my MP's Hyper .21 (after I bought my Maxx) and the 1-way in the pull start slipped badly, so maybe the WD-40 doesn't make such a good ARO after all.

When you turned it over, did fuel come out? You never said if any did. The cold also may be contributing to starting troubles. A cold engine is hard as hell to start. Just gotta keep goin till the engine warms, then it will fire. I'm not exactly 100% sure of your problem though, because your entire paragraph was written "Nirto" style.
Edit: BTW, I have used WD-40 as after run oil on mine, and never had that kinda trouble. Guess just had good luck or somethin.

Well i am using Some trinity ARO I got it in a big pack at my LHS. I only put 3 drops in the cylinder which it says to to and one in the carb! I was skeptical about the carb! But it started not to work after the first run I never put ARO in after the first run! cause it was only 15 minutes after that. I went to start it and the EX-start motor would not engage, and turn the motor. I will pop over a few times and then start spinning again! not sure what the deal is but when i flip the truck upside down to clear the gas out of the Cylinder it turns the motor over fine! but i put the damn glow plug back in flip the truck back on its wheels try to fire it an nothing! it is spissing me off! pretty quick i am gonna get a damn pull start and a glow plug ignitor!

When i took the glowplug out there was alittle fuel spitting out of the cylinder. But i got that cleared out! And what do ya mean about writing in nirto????

I know this is stupid question but did yu leave it outside while you munched out? 34 Degrees 10/15 min it probably got so cold that the grease in the easy start got so cold that that it did not engage.
Just a thought ;)

hey,
did you every get it running again? it was probably a low battery on the easy start...it probably sounds like the battery has enough power to crank it over,,, but it just doesnt...that happens to me alot..so usually 8 outta 10 times i pop in a new batt and she fires right up!
did you put you finger on the exaust hole for a second or two while your cranking it over...maybe its not getting the fuel pressure?
hmmm, im trying to think of a bunch of other stuff to troubleshoot the problem...
lets see..
1.) low battery (needs to be a 7.2 pack)
2.) fouled out glow plug (happens during break-ins)
3.) need to put your finger on the exaust hole when cranking the motor (just for a second)(you will hear the motor noise change when its starts getting the fuel)
4.) glow plug wire is loose ,make sure its on good!
5.) engine is too rich and keeps flooding>>?????
thats my 2 cents//
