They sell for around 409 but once you buy all the extras if u need them and or just use the saver coupons that you can access you can save up to 40 dollars depending on how much U spend. When I got mine it ended up being like 500 dollars with everything I neede since im a newbie and I saved like 40 dollars not bad if U ask me.

They are 419 dollars BUT on the home page of Tower there is a code. If you spend over 300 dollars you save 25 dollars which makes the savage 394 dollars plus shipping. My shipping was like 7 dollars and I got the truck in less than 1 week.

Mega Nitro (http://www.meganitro.com/indexhtml.html) has them for $375. As far as problems, the only thing that would break with the stock engine would be the dogbones. Just the corner ones, not the centers. There have been some freak accidents but you can't prepare for those. Have fun with it.

Yeah, meganitro.com has savage for #375 and as for problems and issues, go to maxxtraxx.com, enter the forums, go to the Savage forum and near the top, there is one thread that is about savage tips (I don't know the actual title of the thread because their server must be down because I have not been able to enter their forums for a couple days now).

Not really. You can go to www.savage21.net and find out too. I mostly hear the weak points of the Savage are the dogbones. You'll need plenty of replacements. Other than that, most people don't speak of many problems.

I have almost a gallon through mine, not a single broken dog bone. The only thing I have broken is the rear upright but that has been updated

A couple of problems you will have is the shock bolts on the gas tank side. When you will jump the truck sometimes you will land on the tail this will knock a hole in the gas tank and it will depressure the tank and will stop running. The tansmission is not the best hard to fix and hard to dial in for shift points. Otherwise very happy and I do say this I have raced it and the t-maxx is faster but the savage will handle alot better:)

hope this is'nt to late to reply to. i've had one for 2mo and it seems run fine and is very easy to tune. but the only thing that we notice is when jumping alot, over 6ft that is. it will pop out the lft front bone, on mine anyway. but hard bodies has a/m bones/w attached ends. no prob now. also try ,if you hav'nt allready, a big cooling head it made a huge diff in temp much more than when we did the same to our 2.5 t-maxx over all great truck

I'd call HPI about that dogbone popping out b/c I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else. I'd take the HB shafts over the HPI ones anyway though.

james-flipping the screw around so the end doesn't poke out should help. I've done some really rough jumps with the flipped screw and haven't broken the tank yet. I think landing on the front bumper will cause this, but it's hard to tell b/c the tank is so far away from that screw.
