I had a less than desirable break in with my motor and now I was wondering should my truck be wheelieing (??) on the concrete now? I can only get it to lift its front wheels in thick grass... It has 5.5 tanks through it.. I am using stock shock oil and clutch bell. Did I hamper my motors performance or is this normal? Thanks in advance! :D

Hyper break-ins CAN be tough due to the too-rich settings in the break-in instructions. Great engine but with stock gearing it's going to be tough to wheelie a 12 lb truck.

With stock gearing you should have mad wheelies. You might want to look into a 3 shoe clutch, and you might still be too rich.

It was running at 250 degrees, so it's probably not rich.. but I was wondering.. is it even possible to weaken your motor with a poor break in, or does it just wear it a little bit to where you'll need a new sleave and piston sooner? Could it just be a clutch problem? Thanks in advance! I did have a problem with me leaving it unattended at break in to come back to it up against the garage door revving high.. that might have worn the clutch out.. :oI can buy new shoes, I have the Mugen 3 piece.. would this be all that would be damaged fom an incident like that? Also something to consider in my wheelie concerns is that the engine only has 5.5 tanks on it.

thanks again!

A Hyper.21 8port on stock gearing will produce uncontrollable wheelies!! My questions would be: what fuel and nitro percentage? With what glow plug? and what expirience you have with tuning?
Depending on how high the engine was revving for how long is another concern of mine. No I don't think the engine was harmed in any way, If it was you would already know it! Even at 250* you can still be too rich!! the main goal for performace tuning is to set the HSN, FIRST!! then adjust the LSN for off idle response. Off idle response should be clean and crisp, no hesitation or bogging!
Your wheelies will come with a good clean off idle response and a good after market pipe such as the Dynamite #6607 $20 from horizon!!

I recomend you try the FOX standard long glow plug with a fuel with no more than 20% nitro (a good fuel and the fuel that I'm currently useing in my Hyper is Trinity platinum race blend 20%)
