You should look into the Team Losi XXX-T Sport RTR. It's ready to race (rtr) and comes with a great controller, the J.R. XR2i.

It's a pretty decent price too. Only about $250

The evader is not a bad truck either but if you have the $$$ to spare, the XXXT is a better choice.

everywhere i've seen the xxx nt sport it's been 339.99.. the rc10gt plus rtr slightly cheaper, plus it comes with a glow starter, and fuel bottle.. you'll have to buy those items for the xxx nt sport. the price of the rc10 gt plus is around 289-324.99. good luck..

i have an evader and a rc10 gt plus. the evader is fragile is as hell, but a good vehicle.. i would lable it for beginners..

The previous posts have been abour Stadium Trucks (Evader, RC10gt, XXX-NT). Decide if you want a 4x4 or a Stadium truck.

Next decide if you want Electric or Nitro. I'm into nitro myself. It's not hard to take care of, it gives you more power and longer run times. After over coming the initial learning curve of Nitro engines, it's not hard to care for.

If you want Nitro and 4x4, your options are growing by the day. If you think you will be hard on your toy, then get a 1/8th scale buggy. They can take one heck of a pounding and still come out clean on the other side. Plust you get a .21 engine which will be less forgiving in the "tuning" area.

If your not hard on your toys and you want to "hop-up" what ever you get, then go with the T-Maxx. By far the widest aftermarket support available. (BTW, hop-ups are a wast of money... IMHO)

If you just want to bash, then it really doesn't matter as long as you say with well known brands. I don't see any problems with OFNA or Duratrax other then limited local parts support. You will have good local parts support with HPI, AE, LOSI, and Traxxas in most cities.

If you want to be able to race, and WIN, then there isn't just one single truck. To win a race, you will need to be able to tune your engine and drive like there is no tomorrow.

Anyway, if you are looking for a recommendation, I would suggest the new 2.5 T-Maxx. Big, Fun, Fast, reliable, and widely supported by the Hobby. If you want 1/8th scale then I would go with the HPI Savage 21. Big, Fun, Fast with growing support as parts become available. Notice I did not say reliable for the HPI only because it hasn't been out long enough to prove itself.

For the record the only problem w/the losi xxx-nt is the fact that it has got weak a-arms...otherwise it is right there if not far superior to the rc10gt...the reason I say superior is the fact that it is newer technology while the rc10gt has the track record...Plus the radio gear, engine and quality of the parts on the Losi are probably the best on any RTR anywhere...No other RTR gives you a digital JR radio...Only thing you'd need to buy would be basic Nitro equiptment, probably get graphite or aluminum A-arms and your set.

As a matter of fact, yeah, I think I caught it from duratraxman and bubbastump.

TRAXXAS!!!
Dude,
I bought a used rtr Rustler, a NEW Stampede rtr and a Bandit kit so I would have something to build, a charger and six battery packs for what ONE T-MAXX costs.

Who ever said you needed an RTR or a nitro. I would buy a electric kit! Well, unless your already into nitro, then go for another nitro probably. I think a Team T3, with a 15-13t handwound motor, a nice ESC (Novak or LRP), and some good 3000's, or 3300's. The truck will be very reliable, and fast also! Plus it handles really good, I think it handles better than the RC10GT. Or you could buy the Novak brushless system and haev plenty of power, torque, run time, and NO MAINTINENCE! :D It'll be expensive sure, but then again, any all new RC is!

An E-maxx could also be an option, a TXT-1 or a clod buster if your into making your own custom stuff and your into monster trucks.

Personally I think nitro is great, but sometimes you need to run an electric to just get some driving fun, no engine worries, etc...

Oh, I wouldn't really recommend buying a traxxas since they are such a pain to work on. You need to remove so many screws to get to the gears, it really just a pain. But trucks like the maxx you don't really need to work on that often, so its no so much of an issue there.
