Thanks for all your help. Let me give you some more details. The slipper clutch is fine. I have replaced that once. It seems tight and there is no sign of it slipping. I re-set the tension just to be sure. The spur gear is meshed up good and snug and there are no teeth missing. No evidence that the gears themselves are slipping. The car will run and move - but it's sluggish - a lot of rpm relative to the speed. The engine is running like a top. Seems like a clutch (besides the slipper clutch) slipping. Are there 2 clutches - one on the engine drive shaft and another in the transmission? Also, I noticed that it isn't shifting into 2nd gear ever, no matter what the rpm's are. What would you suggest I check next? Thanks again for your input.
