here are some pics of the first version of a plane I built from fan fold foam. It is kind of a cross between a s300 And Now (the Grand Now) that Mike Connally built and a morris hobbies The Knife. It had a few problems with normal flight like it wouldn't turn well unless I used lots of rudder with the ailerons, but it was really stable in a hover. It only had the power to hover at the begining of a flight. half way through the flight it would slowly fall to the floor and land on its tail. Towards the end of the flight it fell backwards so fast that the airflow over the controls reversed and I usually landed it on its back. I have started another one with a few changes to it that I hope will fix its bad habbits. If it flies well I will try to get some pics of it.

the plane was hanging by a wire while some glue dried, I was only pretending to hover it in my room:D

OK Mike,
It's been long enough! Where are the pictures of the new one?
Shall I get my camera ready? :D

I'll have to borrow my brothers camera to post some pics
New one flies OK. It's larger than the last one. I went from a 26 to a 32" ws and shortened the chord just a little. I gave the fuse a little less side area and moved the vertical fin and rudder back so that the rudder hinge line is just behind the elevators trailing edge. I have all the throws set at 45* or more. Its very fun to fly but It is a little lacking in power. I burned up my s300 and had to put a nearly dead 280bb in it but I only got a few flights in on it before I burned up the last of the brushes. I have some replacement brushes on the way. I think the plane is bordering on to big for s300 and 280bb. It looks like it wants a s400 or 480. I'm going to give it a shot with the 280bb and a fresh set of brushes before I go bigger.
Hmm... s400 indoors. sounds like something Mike would do, or has already done :D

thanks
I'm hoping the new brushes will get here today. if they do I will see if my brother will come with me to the field and take some in flight pics. Unless there are 15mph winds like there were yesterday, then I'll just have to take on ground pics

sorry about the lack of pics. I asked my brother about taking some with his digital camera but he said "not now" and I haven't bugged him about it since.
The brushes made it and I've been doing some flight testing and it seems to behave more like a normal aircraft than the last one did. I just put the motor in a 6.6:1 GB with a 12x6 prop and it seems much more powerful. It draws 5.2amps on 8 350mah nicds. the 4:1 GB with a 10x4.7 pulled about 7amps with less thrust. unfortunetly its raining today so no flight tests.

I have some pics of my latest version of this plane. It has kinda evolved into a Cap.
