Hi,

Sorry for the stupid question but I am still new to this. I have an RS4 Pro and want to start using saddle packs. What would I need to mount them? I know I would start by removing the battery holders for the stick packs, but then what would I use to hold the saddle packs in?

Thanks.

I don't have that car, so I'm not sure....but I think that it uses velcro straps or strapping tape.

My friend owns a Pro and I know for a fact that even though the Pro has the slots milled in it, its not equipped to hold saddle packs, BUT...

He ordered the Pro 2 velcro straps and the Pro 2 battery brace. He then drilled 2 new holes in his chasis for the battery brace and velcro to fit.

I'll get him to talk about this and maybe post a picture.

Thanks guys. Any info would be great. I have found the HPI Pro2 velcro straps but could not find the battery tray part number. If you had long enough straps, couldn't you just wrap it all the way around the battery packs and chassis? Would this be bad to have the strap wrap around the bottom of the car? I don't think it would take away that much ground clearance would it?

go rs4 pro!!
i love that care lol.

glad to see a fellow rs4 pro driver out here runnin that expert car.
yes its possible. it jus takes some modifications.

here's a pic of the under view.
drill two new holes on each side of the saddle. one next to the existing one and one some where in the rear of the plate as shown on my car. all you need is a drill bit thats big enuf for the threads to go thru, and a counter sink bit so u can mount counter sunk screws. that way u'll have a better ground clearance.

as for the zap strap thing, i tried it and its ok, but when u go really fast and crash, some time the straps will break and let the batttiers short. so yah. i'll get more pics of my car up too.

Thanks for the info. Pics look great! I do really love this car and am trying to get it (and myself) to the level that I can compete with all those tc3's and losi's! Not quite there yet but working on it.
