Car wont go

i got the caps and shotky diode on my motor. I attached the wires to the motor making sure they were the right ones. The motor is a reedy spec 19t modified. After i got the esc and the motor connecter, im running a lrp runner right now. Well i got a battery attached and i pushed the trigger for go. Nothing happened but it sounded like the motor want to go but something was stopping it. I hit reverse worked. i then flipped the wires to see if they were on wrong. Did it and i hit the gas. Yet again only went in reverse. Then i wanted 2 see if it was the rx by turning the wheel. Fine.Its not the gear mesh cause it moves good. What could be wrong?

A schottky diode should not be used with a reversing speed controller - and the runner is a reverse speedo. Take it off.

It sounds like its either the schottky diode or the diode is somehow shorting the motor leads causing the motor to 'brake' itself. (Brake as in causing resistance in either direction therefore preventing movement, not 'break')

Take out the diode, see what happens.

o i c. It is causing it like only letting electricity flow 1 way due to the 2 currents. I c. Thanks i got a dualie out there in my garage im going to use.

yeah...in the instructions for the novak GT7 speedo they say that you can ruin a motor by running a reversing speedo on a motor with a shottky diode.

Think i fried my speedgem 2 because of that very reason...

yup that is the problem, ive done it before, take it off and it should work fine.

i got my novak running now. Its only forward so im glad. Its still doing the same thing now but i believe its because of a low battery. Like i hit the gas and the motor wont turn. Lets hope i didnt ruin it. I hope i didnt ruin it.
