Welcome everyone to the first Street/Race Competition!!
The Street/Race paint competition will be open for entrees for two weeks and will close at Midnight February 28th.
Each month we will hold a Best Paint and Street/Race competition. If you cant get your bodies done this month, dont worry there will be plenty more to come!!
The winning bodies may appear in Radio Control Car Action or R/C Nitro!!
RULES for Street/Race competition:
1) Any body may be submitted to the competition (Truck, buggy, touring car, etc).
2) Any body submitted may NOT appear in another competition.
3) Photo editing the pictures (other than cropping and adjusting brightness/contrast) is highly looked down upon and may result in disqualification.
4) Anyone may enter a body (professional painters are welcome!)
5) Please refrain from insulting bodies in anyway.
6) Must fall within this month's restrictions (Feb restrictions: NONE, anything goes!).
7) Only 2 entrees per person.
8) Bodies should be painted within the last 2 months.
9) Bodies must be of a "street" look or be painted in a race car style (real and made up scheme).
Each submission must include the following:
Body manufacturer and size.
Paint used.
Masks used (hand or precut)
Inspiration (could be another paint job).
And of course, a body.
This month Baller Status will be judging the Street/Race paint competition.
Each body will be judged by the following criteria (1-bad, 10-excellent):
Detail (score 1-10) (decals, grills, mirrors, roll cages, if its on a real car you score points here)
Over all design (score 1-10)
Execution (score 1-10)
The photo and background will not be judged. All that is needed is a clean photo that clearly shows the body.
Each month we will place some restriction on all entrees.
March restrictions:
Best Paint- Must use only commercially available masks.
Street/Race- Muscle/classic cars only.
GOOD LUCK

Great way to get this comp going!!
Spoolin: Someone once complained that you posted a real car when they wanted to see Tamiya's version of the car, hows that for a compliment? :D
djm914-6: Beautiful! The color is a perfect match for the real one, and the graphite light buckets add a nice touch.
calvin3: Great race body, interior and all!
IntegrationX: Great color scheme!
(i see a trend emerging with the saleen, great car)

OK - it's snowing here now, so I'll have to figure out a good way to photograph this body indoors... In the meantime, here is my entry:
http://home.attbi.com/~dwimek/m3gt_lfl.jpg
It is HPI's M3 GT in 190mm (#7352), and it is painted with custom-mixed Createx, Faskolor, and Alclad II paints. The mask is hand-cut from a custom design that was inspired by vintage 'Cuda stripes.
Here are the long-awaited outdoor pics:

Ok well let me get this straight....the rules state muscle/classic cars only for street/race...is this to include racing cars too? Most of the posts here have been either racing cars or super cars. They all look great guys...but I just want some clarification because I've got an F1 that's nearly finished.

Insp,
We're currently in the February comp, which is only to any Street style car or Racing car. The March rules have been posted 1 month ahead of time to give people time to plan for next month.
mab_man20
02-16-2003, 10:05 PM
Ancient: Very clean as always.
Ian Dunn: Great job, the black looks really ominous.
Clarifications:
There is a little goof in the rules about when it ends. I say "12:00 PM on feb 28th. That means at noon. What i ment was that it ends at midnight on the 28th (or 12:00 AM march 1st. It is corrected now.
Each month there will be a set of restrictions. For February there are no restrictions. At the bottom of every competition i will post the restrictions for the NEXT month so you can get your gears cranking.
1/10 buggies are modeled after full size buggies, a Tamiya hummer body would be a great entree (hint hint), a stadium truck in full race trim with interior and window nettings etc would also be a great entree. As long as it would look right at home on the street or on a real race track its legal.

sebtarta: Very cool. At first i wasnt sure if it fit the catagory of street, but after a minute or two i realized that it is perfect for this catagory!
anton: Good luck, I dieing to see what you have!
Cosmo: The napster body is a great example of a race scheme.
The truck is border line race body (because of the "sponsored" look) and i dont want to be a dick (for lack of a better word) so it will stay.
Keep in mind that judging takes into acount: execution, design, and detail work.

Cosmo: Thanks for catching that and hopefully we will get to see something new.
Acidburn: man am i good at enforcing the rules . lol. Thanks for making the connection.
calvin3: While your body is a perfect example of a race body, it was posted quite a while ago on the hpi forums (more importantly, longer than 2 months ago). Unfortunately, im going to have disqualify the body.
We are trying to get people to sit down at there work bench and churn out stuff we have never seen before. I hope you understand calvin. Im sure you could paint another body that is even better than the civic!

Anton: Great body!! but this is the best street/race competition.
The rules state that all bodies entered must look at home either on the street or on a full scale track. While the paint job is a perfect rc race body, it does not mimic the general template that a full scale race team uses when painting a body.
We split the two contests apart because a scale S7R painted in one color, would never be able to compete with a body like Anton's. For that reason I hope that people can respect that division and only enter bodies with street and racing themes. There will be plenty more competitions to enter your bodies in!!! So dont feel you are missing out.
Thank you.

WOW! Some great bodies!!
KronicRacer and shawnhpi: While both bodies are beautiful, they were painted longer than 2 months ago so im afraid they will not be entered into the judging.
Calvin: I agree that the two types of bodies are very different, yet the judging criteria sets a level playing field.
Scale detail is exactly the same on either type of car. Mirrors, interior, grills, you name it and it can be done on both.
Design: If you look through this thread you will notice that many of the "street" bodies are just as complex as some of the race bodies (rcaddikt's and IntegrationX to name two good examples).
Execution: Does the paint bleed? are the mirrors angeled weird? are the mask lines straight? You get the idea.
Here is a list of bodies that currently are entered for judging:
mab_man20: Impala
spoolin: Focus and Skyline
djm914-6: S7R
IntegrationX: S7R
Ancient of Mu: M3 GT
Ian Dunn: Murcielago
sebtarta: Peugeot 406
rx78gp03s: S7R
signguy: HKS Altezza
excitable: Trans Am
PureTMaxx: Mercedes CLK, and EB4
BobHastings: (bodies that would be entered, only two would be entered) Supra, Toyota GT, and Lotus
Kden46: M5
ibanezcollector: NSX, S7R
KronicRacer: Eclipse (way to take your inspiration from real racers)
moddedsnrally: Civic (im pritty sure the body isnt that old)
rcaddikt: Vickie
If your body is not listed above and you do not know why or feel that you should be listed please IM me and we will sort things out.
thanks

What I'm getting at is 2 month old paintjobs? Are you some how associated with companies that sell bodies? Are ya trying to make your quota somewhere here?
mab_man20

When i say two months i dont mean 61 days. The point of the rule is to get people painting new stuff, not stuff that has been collecting dust for the last year. I had to draw the line somewhere. Your ok rcaddict, dont worry about it (and anyone else who painted their bodies roughly 2 months ago).
mab_man20
02-22-2003, 03:37 PM
Calvin: please read my previous post. As for the stuff bob posted, i know none of it was part of the competition (he broke just about every rule, lol), i wanted to use it as an example of what qualifies as a Race or Street body.
It sounds like we may need to amend the 2 month rule. I believe that 3 months may be a little better ( 3 and a half is ok, four months is stretching it.)
Again the point is to get people to challenge themselves to paint bodies that fit certain criteria, not to challenge people to dig up an old body that fits the criteria.
Please let me know what everyone thinks. I am not a dictator, if anyone has an suggestions or things they want to see, feel free to tell me.

heres an idea to keep it fair and easy..
Before and After Pics...
The body and paints and masks in one picture..
Then the finished product in the next..
That way you know its not a body dug up from there best painted bodies..
See I will never win and im fine with that.. I just love painting bodies.. I have 7 bodies for my 4Tec Pro 6 undrilled waiting to be smashed. LOL
I think the before and after is a good idea.

IMHO, the rules are fair. I don't ever expect to win a contest against the likes of so many really good painters here. I enjoy painting so this is just fun for me. If I do a body that doesn't fit one of my cars, then I'll just sell it... winner or not. Now, I need to find some inspiration for the next contest; maybe a shoebox.

KronicRacer: Thanks for understanding (and honest in your original post). :)
RushRacer: Great sponsored truck!
The only way we can "police" how long ago a body was painted is by if it was posted before. If you have a body that has never been posted before then you kinda sneak by the rule and enter it, but you can also be honest and dream up something new!

http://home.attbi.com/~yadayadaya/images/flamedford/flameford2.jpg
Thank you everyone for the great comments.....all paint is on the outside of body. First I removed the protective film. Window decals applied. White was first then a lime green faded together. Parma flame mask (which I cut up) was then applied. Black primer paint was then layed down over the top in very thin coats. Thats about it. I'm glad everyone enjoys it.

Body: HPI camaro 200mm

Masks used: Included window masks (trimmed to liking)
Inspiration: Commissioned
http://www.dropkicked.net/images/rcbods/camaro.jpg
I had a really hard time getting the glitter to show up in a picture. In person this thing shimmers like a bass boat. I did this one kinda backwards. I put on the window trim, and cut it so it fit the way I wanted. HPI intended this body to be black on top, and it's obvious from the way the window borders are made. BAH!! I went for clean and painted top.
Next
Body: HPI F-150
Paint: Custom mixed createx/faskolor gunmetal.
Masks: Window masks
Inspiration: Commissioned

I left the wing off cuz well, it's freakin ugly and I wanted a streetable look to it. I skipped the obligatory carbon bed on this one because the body color is already a dark metal color and I wanted it to contrast.
Again, they're not too bad I guess, just plain. These are bodies number 4&5 I've painted for the same guy in the past month or so. He really likes one color jobs. Oh well.

First off, I wanna give props to everyone who participated, and took the time to load up their pics etc ( I know its a pain staking process, usually takes me 10,000X to post a pic! lol)
EVERYONE did a good effort.
Winners:
1st- RCAddikt's 34 Vikie : It represented alot of what the competition was all about!
2nd - Spoolin's R32 : This car basically sums up what a clean souped up detailed Tamiya body is, a masterpiece. You're one lucky owner of one Spoolin, and we all appreciate your tutorials which helped alot of us including me in making concours street race bodies.ntial with the stuff your're coming up with! brilliant use of materials, and I applaud your originality skills.
3rd- Acid Burn's cars: Both are interesting topics and pulled off extremely well. Great to see you back, and don't retire!
Honorable Mention: rx78g903s's RSX: Very interesting car. You got alot of potential with the stuff your're coming up with! brilliant use of materials, and I applaud your originality skills.
Most are probably wondering, what about "my" car? Here is a list of comments I typed down for each car. I hope yall appreciate constructive criticism as much as I do!
IMHO:
Spoolin's Skyline : Very clean Skyline. Everything's done carefully, cleanly, and tastefully. Not to mention it's one rare body and has great photography to top it off.
Spoolin's Focus: The white in combination with gold rims is very nice. However its simplicity is a drawback, details such as body panel lines are omitted. But the headlight buckets photography came close. Great job
djm914-6's S7R: Nice and simple design, however the carbon pattern looks uneven to me, and the body was not trimmed as well as it should. Your background and presentation is excellent.
Calvin3's Civic: Very good interior, decal, and rare body. The green is masked off really well. Some drawbacks are the incorrect paint scheme and lesser exterior detail. Ver nicy work
IntegrationX's S7R: Very nice paintjob, colors, photography, and presentation. The gray however is roughly masked, but barely noticeble. Nice job
Ancient of Mu's M3: very nice photography, scheme, colors. Nothing seems wrong with it at all, missing some mirrors definetely. Nice work.
Ian Dunn's Murcielago: Very Simple and Clean, I would have cut out those precut windows though.
Sebtarta's Puegot: The color combination is quite nice in contrast and masked off really well. The only drawback I find is the front seems too cluttered compared to the rest, and lacks dimension in terms of the flames overlapping. This is a very well done paint job. Great effort
rx78gp03s S7R: This body is really scratched up and I can't really tell what the whole paintjob is from the pics. Nice try
DbNorton's TT: Well done paint job, smooth shading. Photography is clear and centered, although an outdoor pic and a little detail mirrors would have set it off. Nice work
Anton's Stratus: Very sweet paintjob and photography. Bold and contrasting colors and rips make this stick out of the track.
SignGuy's Altezza: Very nice color scheme and masking. Custom details are a nice touch too. The photo is clear, but I could see some of your room from your silver back drop, it is a nice try. Outdoor pics and some body panel lines would give you the edge.
Excitable's Transam: This is a very nice purple and rim combination. The decals are well placed. Looks very streetable. nice job
Pure Tmaxx's CLK AMG: Perfect masking and colors replica. Mount it on a chassis with some detail and it would be great.nice work
Pure Tmaxx's Stock Thunder: Perfect masking and colors replica. The wing however is not painted. nice work
BobHasting's Supra: Very nice, nice spoiler, paint, and photography. Nice rim combination too
BobHasting's TS020: I can't really see anything from that small pick, but looks real, nice job
BobHasting's Lola: Very nice color combo and design. Matching dyed rims add a nice touch
BobHasting's Mclaren GTR: Good replica of box art, although nothing special. nice job
BobHasting's Maxx 1: Cool rims and nice slam. Decals looked cluttered though
BobHasting's Max 2: Vivid colors and masking but I cant see much more from photo
BobHasting's Max 3: Nice colors, bad decal placement
BobHasting's Max 4: Very nice patriotic scheme. Can pass for magazine ad
Kden46's M5: Interesting paint job with nice color. Rims match its theme. Nice job
Ibanez Collector's S7R: Very nice color and body is perfectly done. Details? Chassis?
Ibanez Collector's NSX: Very nice color and body is perfectly done. Details? Chassis?
Kronic Racer's Eclipse: Car is a bit dirty and the ofna roof decal looks misplaced, it takes away from the nicely masked blue flames on the side. Neon rims really match it well and looks unique.
Kronic Racer's S7R: Body is perfectly done, good pics, plus nice touch with LEDs. nice job
LouisB's RSX: Very nice bright design and interesting color paint job. black rims is a nice touch
Shawn HPI's Integra: Nice fresh classic street racer design. everythings perfectly done, although I think the stripe on the side of door should go around front bumper too. and no detail or outdoor pics. nice job
Modded SNRRally's Civic HB: Nice pics and angles, bold scheme, custom decals would have been better though
RCAddikt's 34' Vickie: Wow! The custom look is very well executed. Shiny engine detail, nice paint color scheme, nice pics, custom rims, bold exhaust, brakes, unique body . Few cons are blurry windows and omitted grill detail.
CtBots's M Coupe: Nicely done and very nice functional wing. body is kind of worn, nice job
Rush Racer's Triton: Cool theme with nice maskign and colors, but pics are vague. nice touch with matching color rims
Calvin3's Ford PickUp: very original idea and concept for r/c body. nice pics, rims, paint, execution. nice job
Dropped Kicked's Porsche: Pics are dim and the body itself is simple, however the carbon pattern is simply amazing. nice job
Acid Burn's 350Z: Awesome theme and very well exceuted. good pics, rims, colors, design. What it lacks is matching headlights and front bumper.
Acid Burn's R34 Skyline: Very nice representation of this Skyline. Body panel lines would help out alot though. Did I mention great pics?
Dropped Kicked's Camaro: That is one great color! not to mention the cf wing.. Would have liked to see better pics mounted on chassis..nice job
Dropped Kicked's F150: Very unique color and cleanly done. Chassis? details?
rx78g903s's RSX: Wow! Alot of diffrent stuff on it makes it a unique entry. Brilliant use of headlight bucket, and the effort put behind the rollcage, spoiler, is great. nice job Cons: hood is masked crooked, non proportion slammed rear. But that's easily fixed with carbon fiber decal hood and spacers.
Again, Great job everybody, and keep on practicing and keep the creativity flowin'
Thanks mabman for letting me judge, it was an honor.

i hate to be a sore loser, and i'm not tryin to be a sore loser, but there are a few of us, i wont mention any names. but here we go:
"The rules state that all bodies entered must look at home either on the street or on a full scale track. While the paint job is a perfect rc race body, it does not mimic the general template that a full scale race team uses when painting a body." - mab_man20
isn't a hot rod, a "hot rod" car and not a street car?
usually when u associate street/race cars, arent they usually both versions of a car? like the porsche. wouldnt' a hot rod be more of a "nostalgic" car? fitting in the the muscle cars? one last thing, some people who went to the old hpi forum have claimed they saw the car before on there. so can we get some people to testify that. One said 10 months ago. You kno who you are, so speak up.
one questoin from me, where are the points award scale, like in the last competition?
once again, i'm speakin for the few that feel cheaped out. but i'm trying to show that i'm a sore loser, but i wut i got was better then nothing. oh well. great jobs guys. and there goes my respect.

You know what? Let me just disqualify myself. I thought this was supposed to be a fun, informative type of competition to inspire more people to paint bodies. Challenge themselves. I guess not.
For rx78gp03s:
9) Bodies must be of a "street" look or be painted in a race car style (real and made up scheme).
I think the Vickie falls under this category.
Spoolin:
I'd love too know how you or ANYONE else saw this on HPIs board? Because I didn't make it while their board was up.
mab_man / baller - please just DQ my car or whatever you want to do.

Thanks baller for getting the judging done rather early (it must have been a bear to do!) Great job!
Thanks goes out to everyone who entered a body in this months competition.
Next month is muscle cars!!!!
rcaddict's body was, to my knowledge, never posted on the hpi forum. It was posted on this board a little while ago (not more than 4 months ago).
To me any street racer, hot rod, integra whatever looks great on the street. Yes it fits into a subcatagory, but it looks "right at home on the street."
Rcaddict's body is still the winner because it does not violate any rules, if someone felt an objection to it, it should have been brought up sooner.
Im sorry if this makes anyone mad, but we cannot disqualify someone who follows all the rules.
Congrats to RCaddict, spoolin, and acidburn for rounding out the top three! Thanks again to everyone who participated.
The next best paint competition is now up. Any body that uses a commercially available mask is allowed.

Ah crap, i did not expect drama at all...
Sorry about my judging. I can relate, I hate bad judges too, cheaping me out 3 years in a row simply because I did not buy expensive stuff from their LHS. I put alot of effort on those bodies too (S2000, 350 ,Supra).
Matter of fact, I really was going to make either spoolin or rx7 1st place, but the point system said otherwise. ( I mostly calculated points mentally, I thought constructive criticism would be much better, although points would help break close ties) Rcaddikts car still places on top. But that's what sucks about judging, a fine line between opinions and whats really great work. Everyone knows I love imports, thats the only concourse I do! Whether at im at hot import nights or auto shows, I still admire any powerful souped up car whether it be muscle/hotrod/import. Indeed I felt like a traitor, making the imports "lose" because I do the same kind of work and can relate on the design of import car bodies, but then again judging is judging. I can't just let my personal opinions or emotions take over judging, then 90 people will be mad! I was being fair in all respects.
If those few are still mad ,speak up! RCAddikt said it best when supposed to be a fun, informative type of competition to inspire more people to paint bodies. Challenge themselves. Here's a plan to settle it all and make everyone happy:
RCAddikt, If you really want to disqualify yourself, thats fine with me. I realized you are concourse veteran? (has recognition with concourse challenges at HPI) and to some extent that IS "unfair" but rules say otherise.
Spoolin and rx78gp03s are tied for 1st place. Is up to them two to decide who will judge next weeks comp.
calvin3
03-01-2003, 02:25 PM
rx78gp03s?!?!??! How did he move up? Should be Spoolin. Or Spoolin and AcidBurn.
What was so original about rx78gp03s? disk brakes? exhaust? mesh grill? rollcage? light buckets? modded wing? We have all seen it done a million times. It's a basic car with a basic paintjob.
I know most will bash me for this post but this is my opinion.

I have a better idea - I still think rcaddikt's rod was the winner, and if a hot rod isn't "street", I don't know what is.
So - let things stand as they are, and let rcaddikt judge the next competition - that way we don't have to worry about how "unfair" it is to compete against him! ;)

The winners' cars are great. Congrats to you all.
Comments: I enter compititions (paint, driving, photo, etc) to better myself and not to win. Though winning is nice sometimes too. I want better people to compete against otherwise it's not fun or educational. While I'm not new to the RC hobby. I am new to these chat boards, so I don't know whose been around and who postad what and when. I also couldn't care less except to follow whatever rules are in place.
Baller Status- thanks for the comments, they help a lot. BTW though, my trimming is fine, it's my photo editorial skills that need work. Looking back at my own pics I see what you are talking about. Even the precut decals look choppy and uneven. Not that it really matters.
So, Hot Rods are next huh? Does that mean only AMERICAN hot rods and muscle cars or any countries idea of a muscle car? My thinking behind this... Muscle cars are factory high HP versions of a basic car. So, a Porsche GT3 is in the same catagory? What about some of the asian imports?
Ok, I'll dismount the soapbox now, thanks.

Guys this is supposed to be FUN! So you didn't win this time, there will be more competitions to win. I would take the comments about your paint jobs and use them to improve yourself. (isn't that part of the purpose for these competitions?)
I can't wait to see what you guys paint for the next competition. Each paint job has inspired me in some way.
I submitted a paint job my wife did in the last competition, she didn't win. I thought her paint job kicked but (I'm biased :D ) You know what she was just happy to show off something she's done. She was very happy a few of you guys liked it and she is pumped to do better with every paint job she does. What are you guys going to say when she beats you :D J/K
I think these competitions are a great idea, and hope it doesn't get spoiled.
I didn't mean to upset anyone. Everybody did a great job. Everyone should be proud of what you did regardless of what "place" you ended up in.
OK everybody group hug :D

rcaddikt should in no way have to disqualify himself from the competition since his car is the stand out of the group. Baller did a great job with judging the competition. He is one of just a few people I would consider to be an expert at street/race bodies. If you haven't taken a close look at his work, do so in some of the threads where he has posted thim. He is very qualified to judge this type of competition.
Mab and I have had multiple talks about the competitions, let me try to clarify things if I can and he can correct me where I have mispoken. In try to determine the categories, we reviewed the old HPI board contest and tried to get away from it's flaws. One particular flaw of the old HPI board, except towards the end, was that there was no objective rating system in place and the judge would usually just pick what ever car he liked best. The winner was rarely choosen because the skill or effort the paint job entailed, it was simply an emotional "this one is my favorite" type of choice. The other flaw was that we saw people spending hours photoshopping cars to the point where you couldn't actually see any mistakes in their work. That wasn't a testament as to how good their skills were with r/c painting but rather how good they were with the computer. We talked about wanting the best paint being just that, best paint. It's all about the paint, not how well you can photoshop a car into looking good. Think of this as a very specific contest.
With the street/race competition, we looked at those two areas and found that they had a few things in common. The paint work generally is not as strong as in best paint, but the people who make such cars are interested in realism and tend to detail them much more closely then does a best paint type of painter. Since there are a large number of people who enjoy detailing, we felt that this was a great category to enable people to go wild with their modeling and detailing skills. Paint is still a big factor since it is the single most noticable part of the car, but details also count.
If best paint is specific, then this contest is holistic. It considers the entire car. I challenge you to look at rcaddikts entry and find fault with it. You can't. The paint job is very imaginative and not unlike what you see on a hot rod (and yes, hot rods are street cars, they are simply from another era). The engine, mirrors, and disks all add realism. Even the wheels were the perfect choice for the car. A number of the other cars entered had white wheels? I don't think I've ever seen white wheels on a street car. Heck, even his photography is good!
If you have comments that will improve the accuracy of the judging or the contest as a whole, PM them to Mab man and I have no doubt he & Bob will consider them. This particular contest was very broad in scope. Mab has some great ideas for most specific contests as we move forward. Some of them will things like "Import Tuners Only" or "Japan Series Touring Car" or "1930-1950's Hot Rods" for street race and for paint, things like this months "Must Use Commerical Masks" or "4 Colors or less" and "Murals Only" competitions. They will be announced ahead of time and that way, everyone gets a shot at working on different types of cars.
Its been said before, but this is about fun and pushing your creative skills. If you didn't win, ask why not to yourself. What about your car could have pushed across the finish line? What details do you need to work on? Sort those things out then come back and kick everyone elses @sses next month. The people who do win rarely win their first, second or third time out. Instead they keep entering and improving until they stand out. And that is what rcaddikt did yet again this month.

I apologize in advance for anyone that I may offend here, but I need to vent.
The Vickie is a street car. When did Street Rods stop being street cars?? Personally I think it's alot more of a street car then the endless line of imports with disproportional spoilers.
On a similar note: The focus seems to have faded from best paint to most crap you can add to a body. Not every one is into the import scene. Personally I wouldn't be caught dead driving a japanese car, or any car with a rear wing that could double as bleachers at a high school football game. Some of the imports actually had very good paint. Acidburn's cars actually look like they took some time to paint and belong in the top 3.
I know that there are quite a few painters here who can really throw down the gauntlet in these compititions and should. Some of the ones in this comp looked great, and were actually inspiring. I'm not saying that every entry has to look like it took 2 weeks to paint, but the winners should look like they took some thought, were properly laid out, and painted with some degree of skill.
Just My 2 Cents,
Drop
BTW: This isn't a case of me being a sore loser. My entries were never intended to win, they were all commissioned. Nothing special really, just entered to have more entries.
Edit:
Someone came to the door so I was afk for about an hour, and I didn't see HM's clarification on "best paint" vs. "best street/race"

Please email me, PM me, IM me, post in the threads, post in the "competition coming soon" thread, what ever is easier for you and every idea will be concidered.
Im glad people are having as much fun with the competitions as I am!!
The next street/race comp is of movie/tv cars. If its in a movie (or TV show) then its game.
Dropkicked: I have been thinking of ways to get newbies more involved. The problem with "newbie" competitions is what classifies you as a newbie? I know a few people who have airbrushed for years, if they suddenly paint a body are they a newbie?? It is a blurry line and we need to find a way to get around it.

I have nothing against people posting here, but it seems your expecting to be judged soon. This competition ended February 28th and was judged already. If you wish to enter your bodies in a contest please read the rules under the newest competition (always at the top of the painting forum) and make sure the body meets the restrictions and rules.
In June there will be no restrictions, any body can be entered.
