Well here it is. Almost done, I just have to put in cellophane for the windows, balance it, and a few minor details. I also need to get a better antenna and 1/3 AA Nicads for the Tx (it's supposed to double the range). I tested the setup and everything checks out. Mr. Robelen seemed to think this would work so I went ahead. I've wanted to make this plane for a while (hoping the simple controls would help it be an easy flyer) but didn't want to buy a Ceto just for this one design. Then the idea of using the Tyco Rx crossed my mind. I'm not sure about the Gunther prop. The plans call for a Peck 6", but I was having trouble getting it to mate with the MPS-1 prop shaft. I have been using the Didel "BaHoMa" magnet/LiPoly contact system, and I like it.

Oh and the dates on the photos are wrong, these are from 2/15/03.

Hi Drastic,
A very nice looking job. I always enjoy the ones that show innovation and the willingness to be different. I can see how you had trouble mating the Peck prop to the MPS-1 shaft. A drill would open up the prop hole, and if i seems underpowered, it will probably be worth the effort.
Good luck, Dave

i will be anxious to know how it flys please keep us informed. with no elevator and only on/off for the motor it may take some doing to get it all tuned.

i like it!

Yeah, the RCMF article by Dave R. mentions trimming the plane out as you would a rubber FF plane before the first flight (probably a good idea with any micro rc plane). This one was made for the Ceto Rx (rudder, 1ch only). The one in the article used a BIRD with side bias, so having the ability to turn both ways AND fly straight is actually more control than the one in the article...:p I'll definitely keep you posted.
