hmmm it does look alot like a Savage; but hey I like the savage.
Sorry to tell you this CEN Racing; but over the weekend I checked out the LHS in my area; and they told me I'm nuts if I buy one of your trucks. They said they are great no problems with the actuall truck itself; but the only place to get parts around here is about 4 hours away :( I live in Oakville, Ont which is about 50 KM west of Toronto. I know that I could mail order stuff; but shipping will kill me. Perhaps you or someone at CEN can contact the manager at Hobby Hobby in Mississauga and convince them to carry your stuff. As of right now I'm looking at a Savage SS and a JR SX3 :)

One reason some LHS dont carry CEN is because our truck dont break as often as others such as..... you know. Therefore, they make no profit, then its pointless for them to carry us. But anyways,

CEN Racing, when will we get more specs on the Genesis? I want to know what size engine (I hope a .25 at least), gear ratios and most importantly expected release date. I am tempted to dump my Savage for this. It really does look like you took the Savage and improved it, like that radio box!

We are trying to make it on Christmas. If not, no later then Spring 04.
Engine size: cant tell ya
Gear ratio: prepared to be surprised what this baby can do.

WOAHH!!! that's an awsoe truck!! I think i would dump my t-maxx for that!! If it's got more power than the t-maxx then i would defiantly do it if it's durable and reliable....and not too much more expensive:( .......it looks cool......do i see one of those 3rd center shocks like the ones made for the t-maxx by rc'trix or somthing...the shock that's supposed to make the truck more stable?? i'm pleased to see that the shocks will be alluminum...and reverse...and BIG.... NICE JOB!! i want more info i can't wait! maybe by the time it's out i'll have the money....:D  :D ......yeah i probably wil if i save...SWEET!! i want to see what those rims look like...this looks better than the savage IMO

Yes Mr CEN rep, nicely built looking truck. ;) But I want to see the 8th scale buggy releasd ASAP.
I think hobby shops would be fools not to carry CEN products since most of the parts for the Fun Factor series are interchangable..... meaning, they won't need to stock a 30' wall full of CEN parts.
OK, that's the way I feel about all of this, sorry to butt in.
Figit090
08-16-2003, 10:04 PM
off the subject a bt...but do most hobby shops let you ORDER things they don't have?? or is it strictly just the brands and models they choose to carry....or both....what do you guys usually come across?? I think mine will order stuff for me...but i dunno...
and yeah CEN dosen't have the best rep advertisement wise compared to som comp. like Traxxas or even HPI...which sucks...they look and sound like they are way better trucks...i mean....you can just bolt in a .21 and it will handle it for less $$$ then a t-maxx (not counting engine) and if you do that to a t-maxx chances are within a short while the shafts will probably snap!! cause they are PLASTIC!! (am i wrong?? i dunno how strong they would be agisnt a .21:confused: )
i got mt and the servo has quit responding to input turns to the left full lock and wont move till i turn the rx off and steer the wheels by hand it did it on a mini-z tx and in the ch2 slot on the rx and worked fine untill i began engine breakin the throtle servo works fine
also could u tell me about how many pulls average it will take to start the engine the first time thanx

i like the nt-16 engine CEN Racing i have had it running on 1 pull with a fully charged glo starter and under 3 pulls with a half charged glo starter a gr8 engine and it has power too but i havent gone to a empty parking lot to get it wound up yet
the pre production genisis looks identical to the cad drawing(- backround and the fact that it is a real truck) but 7.5'' tires will be hard to come by (i only know of 8.5'' imaxx tires)

hiya - CEN do have any decent pictures of the misubishi fun facter as I would like to buy a new one but can't find any pics thanx :D
jummy23 the only difference between the mitsubishi funfactor and the mt2 i have is gearing a-arm tire and possibly no 2speed and different body given the one u want is a 4wd the chassis engine exhaust system radio servos fuel tank r in the exact same place 2wd or 4wd also 2wd trucks have slipper clutches while 4wd trucks have a disk brake in that location the 2wd trucks also have the brake but im clueless where it is

After reading all your posts, I decided to get a ST2. Haven't fired it up yet, but I got it. To save me from going through the posts again, can some one tell me what brand of rims are compatible. I plan to have a spare set, like some Masher 2K's or Dirt Hawgs. I wan taller tires to make the truck a better basher. Has anybody had any durabilty issues yet? So far, the truck looks top notch. What plugs are you guys using?

After reviewing these posts, I flexed the chassis. Wow, I'll definitely be fixing that before I drive it. I see the Oct. RCCA's pics of the fix the racer did, but what did he use? Looks like two ball cups and a turnbuckle. If so, what ballcups did he use? Should I just take out the screws where they will go and go to my lhs and find matching threads?

He used our titanium turnbuckles with our two ball cups. Basically its a simply modification.
Punisher911

What ball studs did he use. I just bought 2 and the threads are different. The ball stud threads are fine and the servo screw it replaces have course self tapping threads. What do I do?

I still need to know how he put the ball studs in the chassis for the brace. More importantly, I can't start my new CEN ST2. I had it only running for about 3 seconds, it stalled, never to be started again. Tried new glow plugs, different ignitor, and even leaned it out 1 turn just to start it, no luck. Not to mention just from pull on the starter, one of the fuel tank nuts fell off. Apparently it wasn't tight. What's the haps here?

make sure the pressure line and fuel lines are on the right fittings. If not it wont run for more than a few seconds or until the fuel goes below the fitting. Lol, trust me, i made the same mistake.
mine was perfectly routed stock the reason it didnt like to run very long is the instructions say to run it so rich the damn thing loads up with fuel .25 turns leaner fixed that it runs gr8 and i havnet had to tighten one nut/screw since i got the thing

MT2 can you list ( in a few different brands) what is the right glow plug?
My LHS gave me a Mccoy #7 I think and now when I hit a bump the engine stalls.
The plug that came with the truck is long gone...(really rich break in lol!)
different ones for different outside temps? like summer /winter? thanks,
I've run a gallon of %20 blue thunder sport through it.
i run any plug that is listed as short reach cold heat right nowi have some fox plugs and the NT-16 seems to like them--my original plug lasted 10 tanks--i run byrons originals 20% race fuel and it purrs like a kitten when it dont flame out im still running near breakin settings because i dont have any access to a parking lot:rolleyes:

I read someware that small blocks like hot plugs and BB like cold ones. I have OS #8 and OS #r5 for my mugen in stock.
Is that statement right or wrong?
the nitro handbook that came with my MT2 said that was the correct plug--short reach cold heat no idle bar--
auto2
10-31-2003, 08:12 PM
well it makes sence if I have a hot plug that is causing problems and the book calls for a cold one.LOL!
I was going over a "berm" tonight ( just shifted into second so it wasn't going slow) and the front end came up pretty high, the back of the body cought the ground and ripped the body in half.
wish I had the camera running.LOL!
just outta curiosity did u just thumb thru the nitro handbook untill breakin instructions popped up
also i run the recommended fuel and its not CEN fuel

I feel for you. so you havn't hit second gear yet? :-)
I did a search on GOOGLE for glow plug info and it seems the novarossi plug I have IS a cold plug.
this is all very confusing. no standard for measurment.
I only got 3 tanks out of my first plug. It was 90 degrees out and 100 % humid, My initiald carb setting was WAY too rich for that weather.
once I got it straigthened out I ran about 8 or 10 tanks on the second plug.
Now it's 50 degrees out and not humid so that changes everything.
BTW are you running the stock radio?
And I found a HUGE improvment going from "AA's to a 5 cell hump pack.
no room to properly lean it out to hit 2nd gear do u know of any nation wide stores that will let me get it wound up and in 2nd gear i would use walmart but they are too busy to run a $300 truck
im running the mirage 3 am radio that came with it powered by 4 nimh aa held in the holder by duct tape i would not mind going to a 2-stick radio my thumbs can work those better than my other fingers can work a pistol radio
Have you guys found any need to adjust the shocks? It looks like the HPI shock length adjusting clips will clip on to the ST2 shocks to adjust the ride height. Just curious as I have not ran mine yet, and it will probably need some tweaking to get it jumping level. Maybe not...... what say ya?
the st2 and mt2 use the same shocks and i own a mt2 so ill say this it jumps level without any modds as long as u let off the gas and brakes if it tries to nose down tap the throttle to bring it up if it noses up tap the binders to bring it back down it is very sensitive trust me near the end of the tank dont jump i tell u this from experiance i hit my just at the exact moment the thing started to lean out because it was running out of gas the rpms went way up and it did half a backflip landing on its shock tower bending it and popping the battery out of my glo starter the plugs i was running that day really didnt work all that well i now have o.s. #8 and blue thunder sport going thru it and it runs better mine is tuned very rich on top of that i also gained performance on hte os plugs and when i ran outta byrons originals i got blue thunder that gavfe me more power and i like it
now for more ground clearance grab a plus head screw driver #1 wil do and unscrew the shocks from the a arm mount the stock hole is the one closest to the tire move it over one hole and make sure it stays in the top row of holes screw it back down and repeat for all tires u just gained a few mm of ground clearance
What weight oil are you guys running in your shocks? Mine has the stock oil, whatever that is. It seems rather light to me. If I drop the car from 2 1/2 - 3 feet the chassis bottoms out. Seems to me like it should have more dampening being as heavy as it is.
Also, I found that the truck did include adjustment clips for the shocks. There are 4 additional ones included.
What type of aftermarket pipes will fit the ST2? I would like to route the exhaust out of the rear of the truck so that normal bodies will fit without having the bulge on the left side. Looking for good lower end torque.

There isnt really any easy way to installed a exhaust onto rear of the truck. Truck is design to have exhaust on the side. BUt all you have to do is use a wire and secure it. Some zipties will help too

I got the cen bumper to fit on my cage also.
yes the exh is a problem.
you can't run it on the side cause the wheel base is too small for a big block muffler.
I had to limit suspension travel just a tad so the upper arm doesn't touch the muffler.
Oh I almost forgot MUgen MBX4XR front shocks fit on the mt2 perfect! it's a bolt on.

would the towering head/carb of the O.S. FS26S CX fit under that cage and be protected from being ripped off in a rollover ive been known to have a few knarly wipeouts and biffs that turn into tricks like hitting a pothole the rear end bouncing but tee front end staying on the ground it slidin ass first thru a rough yard with the cyl head catching on another pothole and flipping it back over

I made the cage so your question is irrevelant. if my car had a taller engine I would of made a taller cage.
there is a guy on ebay selling tmax cages for 30 bucks. that is what I started with.
I have been talking to him and he is willing to make my cage in large quanties if i can find enough costomers.
But I'm not sure if that is a good idea cause I didn't "measure" anything when I made it I did it "by eye"
maybe a poll to see how many would preorder a cen mt2 cage?
and then a big block and smal block would have different cages.

379 you want to put a 4 stroke in a CEN?
Oh my you are a glutton for punishment. double the torque of a 2 stroke. I give the dif cups 5 minutes with that engine.
( it would be cool though)
my stock cups show no wear after damn near 2 gallons of getting the hell beat outta them i think mine would take a 4stroke with flying colors they came in the truck i dont see how everyone is breaking them so much when mine are like they were the first time i saw in in person on my lawn tractor besides im not all thet keen on 45mph yet i can barely control it asis the lowered top end and rpms will aloow better control as long as the front end stays on the ground

id rather put the .40 car 4stroke(1hp less power loss) in but i doubt the pullstarter would squeeze in between the engine and the tank and id like to keep my radio box

Great idea Auto2 !
Did it prove to be that durable under run ??
For my own, I work on a 2.6kg ST ... but it relies on a thick squarish body. All details HERE (http://rcsaga.com/brute)
Let me tuned on yours !
is there a CEN ST1 truck with 2 speed ? What is the difference between st1 and st2? Are they reliable?
ST1 is single speed 2wd ST2 is 2 speed 4wd reliable as a briggs and stratton lawn tractor engine
auto2

popop? what did I say that was a god idea? me brain dead this morning.....
no gear stripping problems like HPI's mt or evo? I'm a newbie and I'm planning to buy a SD truck and since I'm not familair with RC and not mechanically inclined, I want a ST that is fast and runs without having a problem. I was going to purchase HPI's mt2 or rush evo but I've heard stories about gear stripping. Is this problem also inherent in st2? What are the good points about st2? thanks
when i said reliable as a briggs and stratton lawn tractor engine i meant it the MT2 is a ST2 with a torquier gear ratio a truck bod and MT tires mine is right at 2 gallons and the only thing i have replaced are glo plugs and a servo that was defective

so do u own a st2? Is it a pullstart? Lastly, do you have any video clip of st2?
Well, I am on my 7th tank in my ST2. It is running great! I have leaned it out now and started trying to get it to shift. No luck yet. I have adjusted the tranny everywhere from 2 turns out to 5 turns out and no shifting takes place. The book says not to go to 6 turns out as the screw will fall out.
How fast is this truck in low gear? I figure mine is going over 30mph, maybe 35 or so. I thought it might be stuck in high gear?? Its not that fast off of the line. The book says to hold onto it and accelerate. You will feel a pronounced kick when it shifts. Nothing like that happens and the sound doesnt change either.
I thought you guys may have some input before I tear it apart.
auto2
03-07-2004, 04:50 PM
more than a few of these truck came with the shifter installed backwords.
when this happens besides it doesn't shift it puts a groove in the second gear.
mine was wrong and I fixed it and never got it to shift until a bought a new gear. I'm sure CEN would warentee it if I asked but I didn't . maybe they will read this and send me a "T" shirt or somethingLOL!
also if your still way too rich the engine can't rev up high enough for it to shift.
Thanks for that, now I have to figure out what the right way to install it is. The books do not show this anywhere.... The way it is now, the allen wrench is inserted downwards on the drivers side of the gear into the hole and after locating it, the screw. Does that sound correct?
I am getting a nice smoke trail and it is running a tad over 240. It seems close in tune, but its cold outside
auto2
03-07-2004, 05:53 PM
another posibility is if you loosened the other set screw by mistake. It is a larger size not 1.5 like the adj.
turning the gear counter clockwise (looking at it from the front back) the big locking set screw should come up first and then the ADJ screw.
IF the big screw loosened up you'll have to take it apart cause there is a flat on the shaft for the set screw and how would you find it otherwise?
That is the way my screws come up, big one first, adjuster second. I am taking it apart anyway to see what is up in there.
auto2
03-07-2004, 06:35 PM
if this helps I checked mine and it is at 4 1/2 turns with the softest spring. But I have a .21 in it and that adj might mean nothing to yours with the .16
I just read about stock setups running 5.5 turns, maybe I will try that first before I take it apart. I dont want it too loose and coming apart on me either. Where do you get the softer springs?
Wow, it looks like I have to split the Diff to get the tranny loose.... wish there were better instructions.
auto2
03-07-2004, 06:50 PM
no no need to take the diff apart.
the bearing inside the gear is a press fit on the shaft.
but if your just looking at the shifter then you don't have to take any gears off ( I think)
I see.... I have the shifter in my hand. I removed the spring and ball. The cog is all free as it should be. Even with 6 turns out the screw is still completely in the threads. 7 turns and the cog is too loose (I think) and the screw is starting out of the threads. Very interesting design! It looks ok to me so it must be just not adjusted far enough out. I think a softer spring is in order. 2-3 turns should be the adjustment range I would think. This feels like it is too far out to me.
auto2
03-07-2004, 07:33 PM
the best part is CEn tell you to loc-tie the grub screws. Well how do you loc-tite it and then adj it? and how do you adj it and then loc-tite it???
My car came with a2 extra springs? did yours?
Well, I am glad I took it apart. The grub screw was not on the flat, that could have been a problem too. I did not loosen it either before taking the truck apart. If the grub screw is not tight on the shaft, 2nd gear would never engage. The cog would engage the pinion, but it could not deliver any power to the truck. I dont think the adjusting screw is called a grub is it?
I got this truck from someone that said they could not make it run. Perhaps they did and tried to adjust it. It sure did not look used at all. It could have been assembled this way at the factory too I suppose. Whatever it was, it should be ok now. All I need is some daylight to test it.
I did not get any extra springs, no. Will have to order some I guess. Did you use the lightest one of the three?
Thanks for the help Auto2 :D
Somewhere I saw on the internet, a parts place that had a blowup of the truck. All I had to do was click the part and it added it to my cart. I can't seem to find the link now. Anyone have that
link or a good place where I can order parts? Thanks!
Nevermind, I found it

i own the MT2 which is a ST2 with bigger tires and a lower gear ratio 14:1 vs 10:1 yes it is pullstart no video clips as i cant take them but i do have a pic of mine in the air but it aint devoloped yet when i say reliable as a B&S tractor engine i mean it 2 gallons and still runnin strong with one pull starts i even mudbog mine the stock .16 is in all funfactor vehicles the ST2 and MT2 included and is a pullstart side exhaust rotary carb standard crank smallblock engine with spit
Yesterday the weather was crappy so today I was anxious to get home from work to test the ST2. It shifts great! I think it is around 5 turns out but shifting just a bit soon. 4 1/2 should be the ticket just like Auto2 said. Noticable increase in top speed in second gear and you can definately hear it shift. Cool! I ordered the spring set along with a few spare parts. I plan to try the softer spring just to get the screw farther into the threads. It would be fine like it is though. Just finished my first quart of fuel and its running great. Next its serious jumping time and suspension setup. Not sure what weight oil is in it but I think it should be a little heavier. Maybe a piston change is in order as well. It should not bottom out when landing from a jump. I have Pro Line Dirt Hawg tires on it and they seem to bite pretty good in the dirt. Can't wait for racing to start!! I am tempted to tear the chassis apart and lower everything but I will wait to see how it handles in stock form.
Cheers!
lower it? it needs to be lifted not slammed
Originally posted by 379

I don't mean lower the ride height, I mean lower things down onto the deck of the chassis such as the servo and tank. They sit up there pretty good.
o well i thot u were gonna slam it down lo for some reason im trying to lift mine cause i mudbog alot
u wont need to i got the MT2 and with just a camber ajustment it handles like i want it to and wont traction roll unless the binders get involved i have mine as high as it will go in stock form as well now all i need are some taller shox and i will have a troo MT not a ST with bigass tires and torquier gearing u wont need to lower a single item so dont bother all the truck needs is camber ajustments and maybe some toe in dialed out
I would like to slow my ST1 down by changing the gear ratio and give it some more low end power. I have found some different spurs available but increasing the size will bring the spur closer to the bottom of the chassis or maybe even sticking below it. This doesnt seem like a good thing due to the possiblity of the gears getting damaged. I have not found smaller pinions and that sounds like a better alternative to me. Anyone know where I could find them? What configuration is the CEN MT?
The ST2 has a 44/47 spur and an 11/14 pinion as stock
Thanks!
the first gear in ur truck is the second gear in the MT the MT 1st gear spur is 47t im not sure on pinoin go to www.toyhaus.com use their interactive parts thingy to cet the P# and order at ehobbies to save money
for st2 do u need to glue the tires or does it already come preglued. Is it hard to glue them?
yes u need to gloo them super glue in the rim beads followed by quickly pressing the tire bead into the slot worx great

The first gear in the ST2 (slower) is the 47 tooth and the second gear (faster) is the 44 tooth (I think). As I understand the MT is geared down (slower) due to the increased tire size. The toyhaus site does not differentiate between the 2 trucks, but does list the different size spurs. On the MT2, are the spurs sticking below the chassis? On mine, they are just a very little lower than the top of the chassis. I had considered making a shield to cover the slot in the chassis for the spurs to help prevent damage.

This is not quite right, it sounds like maybe the spur sizes are the same for the ST2 and the MT???? Maybe the pinion sizes are different.
If I change my first gear from (for example) a 44 to a 48 would I change the second gear from a 47 to a 51 to use the existing pinion set? That would be a 4 tooth increase on both. The diameters have to jive.

Hi,
I am a n00b at all of this. But I was just wondering, about what is the top speed of the CEN SP1? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,
Actually, the SP1 is also available in gas powered too. But, I found out that the SP1 can go somewhere between 30-35 mph. But thanks anyways!

I need your help dudes.
Im having troubles with 2 speed. I have had it shifting but it doesn't like it, engine just tried to die. Had the 2 speed apart and noticed that there is a groove inside the 2nd gear spur, does this mean my clutch was shipped the wrong way round?
I've read and re-read your posts about the correct orientation of the shift clutch and I'm not sure what you meant.
I have the 2speed infront of me, I'm looking down the shaft directly into the gearbox, the engine is to the right.
The grub screw to secure to the shaft is top dead centre, the adjuster gub is to the left (i.e. further away from the engine). This ties up with the diagram of the gearbox being adjusted in the manual, but unless I'm reading the diagram on the back of the engine manual wrong this is wrong.
The rear page diagram (only diagram with reference to the direction of the shows the clutch shoe) shows the adjuster screw being closer to the engine meaning that the picture of the gearbox being adjusted on the previous page is wrong as the adjuster and the hole in the 2nd gear wouldn't line up on that side.
Please please please can someone clarify this as its driving me crazy and if it was built wrong I think CEN (or irvine here in the UK) need to send me some FREE replacement parts.
Does any one have pics of the correct orientation, maybe a website with photos of the clutch fitted the right way.
Once I get mine sorted, I think that I will dedicate a site to it so other newbs like I am now dont have the same problem, cos lets face it, the CEN site is rather vague regarding the 2 speed.
Thanks in advance

Yours is backwards compared to mine. I just looked at mine to confirm it. With the grub screw top dead center, and you looking from the front of the truck towards the rear, the adjustment screw should be on your right, which is the motor side. Mine is shifting really good now!

Cool,
thanks for that jrjr.
looks like I'm on the phone tomorrow to try and get some replacement parts F.O.C.
Problem is I've been trying to phone Irvine (UK distie for CEN) for the last 4 days for advice on this problem and had no luck speaking to anyone. Fingers crossed that I'll get somewhere..
Cheers

I know that they should replace them for you. but they arent that expensive. You can order and have them in 2-3 days here:

:D
Finally spoke to Irvine (UK Distie for CEN) after a lot of explaining and trying to convince him that looking on the internet for solutions to my 2-speed not 2-speeding was a good idea and didn't make matters worse, I am a happier chap.
Only drawback is he wants me to send him my 2-speed and my faulty clutch bell. Oh did I not say, to ad insult to injury, the other day the clutch bell decided to fall apart to make sure I couldnt even drive the car at 1 speed now.
Oh well, I've been without it for a week now, another week to get fresh parts isn't gonna hurt. Besides it's an incentive for me to work on my Traxxas Nitro Hawk and get that to handle better. It's in peices at the moment following a ruthless cleaning session....lol.
When I get it all up and running I'll be back on here reporting back, hopefully posting a link to my website with pics and info on my cars and the trials and tribulations of RC trucks
Anyone else got sites devoted to their CENS or other manufacturers cars?
Cheers for your help jrjr.

MT and MT2 are identical except body theme. MT2 is yellow with flame while the MT is red.

One way to install the 125 cc or bigger tank is to removed the top chassis plate. Another way is remove the radio box and setup a tank there. Good luck

I didnt know the mail box can only hold less than 20 mails Anyways, i clear it already.
Yeah, Its true about the Sidewinder offroad explosion race. I was there. We finished 2nd and 7th in the T-max monster truck class ( i think thats what they call it). Full detail will be on RCCA and RC CAR, i think. RC Car is there but i didnt see RCCA. I know we fill out the sponser sheets for these two magazines so i guess they going to write a article about it, (otherwise, why bother ask what we use and take picture). It is funny that the some audiences were making fun of our truck (well, we using "almost" stock car against extreme hopups trucks with Novasossi racing engine) before the race. After the race, they were looking through magazines for our ad and asking us for information.
The MT2 is "almost stock". "alomst" because We have to buy a Losi fuel tank :) after the qualify ( using the stock 75cc during qualify) because our tank is too small and we have to pit at least twice more than others each race. One driver take off the standard 2 speed and one driver is using our new design tuned pipe that wasnt release yet. Other than that, its about stock.
CEN engine, stock CEN shocks, stock CEN transmissions, stock CEN wheel and tire, everything on it is CEN except servos and receivers, and the big fuel tank.
ST2 have insame grips and power. You just can't beat the control of 4WD. Too bad there isnt a big race for 4wd Stadium trucks like the 2wd ones. otherwise, we will be there.
Hey Cen, the whole reason i went with the fun factor is because of how you guys did with it at that competition. Thx for the advice on the fuel tank I dont want to take out the radio box but i cant figure out how to take out the top chasis plate and still being able to use the stock servo. Do you have any pix of the one you guys did? If you cant post em could you email em to me at bguyinvegas@cox.net??? thanks a lot!!!

You do not need the JT kit to install a bigger tank. SImply remove the upper plate and mount the servo horizontally (shown in picture)

My 47T gear is totally shot the teeth on it are jsut basically melted down. My question is did you change your gears out? And if so did it give you any sort of improvement or did you need to make any other adjustments or tuning?
Poor Judgement

gearing ur truck up for higher speed, but less accelleration will reduce the stress on the gears a little. better to stiffen the chassis more tho, and ensure that the gearmesh is as perfect as possible. thread lock all ur engine mounting screws too.
the alloy brake seat is a great place to start to add stiffness, its the simplest way and gives the most improvement, but it is very expensive for what it is (are u listening cenracing?) try emailing ebay sellers who sell cen parts - they may be able to get u one a bit cheaper - thats what i did anyway.
try this site (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robert.palmer97/CEN%20Test%20Pages/Mods%20to%20make%20a%20CEN%20semidecent.htm) for some more cheap and easy ideas.
