Wouldnt the boards run alot faster and smoother if you purged some of the older pics?

Im on a fast cable line and it takes forever and a day to load pages.. Just a thought.. If you purged pics from say 3-4 months and beyond this board would probably speed up 200%

Again not complaining since this forum is like home to me.. Just an idea..

I am on a fast cable line also, and I haven't had any problems with the timing. How are your cache files? If they are loaded up, check on them, they might be slowing your computer down...

I am also a cable user. I have no problems. Try to delete your history. That sometimes helps. Go to tools. Then internet options then hit clear history.

Do you notice that many of the slow functions are entering posts that don't even have pics? I don't believe that is an issue.

This board is all database-driven via a PHP script. Now I haven't done the math to total up how many posts are currently here, but if you have a database that has a million or so records it's going to take some time to query.

Note also that the slow periods seem to come and go. I'm guessing there is a combination of server load, database query, and general bandwidth connections between the RCCA server and the user bandwidth that's causing the lag. We get this all the time with AOL customers attempting to connect to anything on our bandwidth pipe: some days no probs, others they can't even view pages on our servers. But then AOL is a festering boil on the buttocks of the internet.

yes ive been on cable for 4 years now.. Im also a computer geek..

My cache is never full, I delete cookies everytime I close my browser, my temp dir is deleted every night when I run daily maintanence.

Must be me... but it loads slow at times.. almost like I was on a 1200 baud modem..

who knows
