Personally, I wouldn't put the money into it to convert it to a .21. Why? Well, you're going to need the conversion, a very high end engine (considering your friend has the new Sirio .18), and basically a whole new drivetrain. The money needed would be pretty high.

What you should try out first is to get the Sirio piston/sleeve they are now making for the 2.5. According to some people on the Traxxas board, it helped incredibly. Plus, for the price of it (something around 70 bucks), it is well worth the try. After this, you could gear up to a 22 tooth clutchbell if you need the top end edge.

RCCA tested a .247 converted T-Maxx, and with stock gearing, it was no faster than a stock old T-Maxx (30 MPH). You're going to have to get pretty exotic to get to the speeds of the 2.5 or the Sirio engine.

I don't know how much the tranny gears are, but you'll also need to replace driveshafts. And while you're at it, why not some new diffs? Then some new shock towers and bulkheads? New shocks? New arms? You see where it's going... it'll turn in to a money pit fast. You're better off trying the Sirio p/s for the 2.5 and gearing up.

i understand what your saying....i know it will be a money pit due to all the upgrading....thats why i wanted to buy a Monster GT..its already gonna be beefed up!!!!!im just so sick of waiting for the Associated Monster GT im getting anxious....lol

i want it NOW!!!!!!!!!!thats how i'am,,,no patience

i think i might just try the Sirio P/S set....i mean the sirio 3.0 isnt that much faster than my 2.5 right now....but its only on the 8th tank of gas and its getting stronger,,,lol..so im getting nervous....

the sirio 3.0 motor sounds and acts just like the 2.5,,i have the sirio pipe on my 2.5

if i get the sirio P/S, what gearing should i go with in my MAXX???

also when i put in the P/S,,its pretty much a new engine again right>>>? and i have to break it in again?

Yeah, you'll have to break it in again. I'd get a new rod if you ran a good amount of fuel through it too.

Well, stock gearing is 20/72, so I'd bump it up to 22/72.

Or you could just save your money and do nothing to your motor. Being faster is not always better. It's how you drive that counts. Being faster is good for striat-a-ways, not so good in turns. Just remember not to hit anything and you will go far.:D The neighbor.

Just don't worry about it.

run your stocker until it wears out but if that is way too long for you you could just get the new siero sleve and that will give you a lot more power. If you go the big block way you will start breaking drive train parts all the times and you will start upgrading it. Pretty soon you would dig your wallet a grave. If you can't stand your friend maxx being faster channelge him to a mini-race and have some turns in it so his maxx will flip on its back and your will will still be on it's feet. then you could rag on how his maxx flips al the time.

really funny TERRY,
just you wait.I will soon make your truck look like a tyco RC...lol
The reason he said this is because i crashed my truck yesterday and broke the front bulkheads and the truck fell apart///lmao:eek:

But i will be back up and running soon.Im a good driver, that was my first crash really....it sucks i drive on a very narrow street with high curbs and 1 false move and the truck smacks into the curb hardcore......i think its time to look for a new stomping grounds!!!!

oh yeah by the way ShortTank(TERRY)(NEIGHBOR), your the one always crashing your damn truck...lol
