I have a tmaxx with a fs 40 four stroke in it and recently it has developed a tranny problem. It will not engage into gear. I pulled it apart and none of the gears are stripped. I also adjusted the inner clutches but that didn't seem to help. Any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

P.S. Post a reply or email me at gopokes4@cox.net

Do you still have the reverse mechanism in there? If so then you have two clutches on the output shaft and if the forward one has anything wrong with it then the truck will not go forward. If it won't engage reverse, too, then I would suspect the one-way bearing on the first gear side. When they wear out, if turned by hand these one-way bearings work but under the torque of an engine they slip.

I tore the tranny apart and adjusted the clutch on the reverse mechanisme actually took the allen nut out a few turns and if runs like a champ now. Thanks for the help.

I had a similar problem Check the one way bearing and the shaft it is connected to check to see if either is worn or stripped.
If that's the problem replace both at once.
