Anybody have info on how the warrenty is at Traxxas.
I was breaking in the new 2.5 Tmaxx and the throttle stuck wide open on the 5th tank.... It hit a tree and flipped and over-revved.
I called the support guys, and I was more concerned why it stuck. I think it was the slide sticking in the carb, but now I took it out today and it would stall after about 3 min. I went and got a temp gun, and at 4 1/4 out on the hsn, it was at 315 degrees if I tune it out more, it won't hardly run. The tech at Traxxas said check the heat, but didn't say to send it in, if it was running hot....
I am calling them on Mon.....sounds like a warrenty issue to me, but we will see

Richen your LSN that should bring your temps down and still give you good perfromance. They may replace the carb under warranty.

Thanks,
I opened the LSN another 1/4 to 3/8 and now it is about three turns open. The book says flush with the slide and I'm past that a few threads. My HSP is at 4 turns per the book also. When I check the temp again, where should I start my adjustments? It seems if the HSN is too rich, it won't shift. If I lean the HSN, do I have to adjust the LSN also???
Sorry for all the questions, But this my first car motor and it is way more tempermental then any air or heli motor I've ever had...
Thanks again

Actually that might be a bit much for the LSN. Try an 1/8 turn for starters. Get the HSN tweaked first, then the LSN and idle. Do the pinch test for the LSN, it's not perfect but gets you close. Some 2.5 owners have opted for after-market heads for better cooling, mine will run in the 220 F - 240F range (with stock head) and still have wheelie power and intense top end. You are right about the HSN and shifting, too lean it shifts right away and too rich it shifts late or not at all. www.traxxas.com has a great tuning guide for the 2.5, give it a try if you continue to have problems. I forgot to mention that a change of fuel brand or nitro/oil content might help too.

I ran the truck today, and it still got hot...
The good news is I called Traxxas and they said, It sounds like a air leak somewhere. They said if I smoked the motor, I wouldn't have good performance in the begining of a run. I remounted and tightend the carb up and changed the glow plug. Everything is reset to stock on both the HSN and LSN. I don't see any other possible leaks. I'll check it again on Tues. if the weather is good.
Thanks for all the help...
